Jessica, Cash & Honor Enjoy A Santa Monica Stroll

Jessica Alba looked great as she walked down the street with husband Cash Warren and their daughter Honor, 2 1/2 months, in Santa Monica yesterday. No glimpse of Honor – she was kept well covered up in her Orbit Baby stroller. We haven’t seen her in a while, I’m sure she’s getting big.

I seriously do not like the look of those strollers.

I’ve seen these strollers a lot lately but I have no idea if they are good. Wow is Jessica really smiling is it me or is that just a rare sight…lol

Celebrities like them because they come with a “paparazzi shield” that pulls down over the front, so no one can see the baby. I can understand not wanting your baby photographed constantly, but it can’t be very interesting for the baby, nor can you see your baby. Also they’re expensive and fairly exclusive. I looked at them, and liked the way the car seat is designed, but I don’t like the stroller part at all. And there’s very little storage space, only that little pod thing on the bottom.

  • Actually, the stars say they like the Orbit Infant System for a variety of reasons, not just the sun shield. The baby carrier rotates on the stroller base so you can push the baby up to a table with ease; the interworking car seat base and stroller frame make it easy to get around; the design is sleek and in keeping with a more modern design aesthetic; the handles are adjustable so as to accomodate a range of user heights (such as men); the storeage is actually very ample thanks to the cargo pod; and the products and the company are eco-friendly.

It’s also important to note, while the company, Orbit Baby, is a bit smaller than many of it’s competitors – giving it the image of being “exclusive”, Orbits are enjoyed by thousands of non celebrity users across the country, (just do a search on Flickr to see a few in action).

@ Nicole: Carrie is actually a PR girl 😉
    Good job, Carrie!

I’m sure celebrities like the Orbit for a bunch of reasons–one beign that they were free. And, yes, I’ve seen people pushing them on the streets of Manhattan. They are more modern, which appeals to me as I’m a fan of modern, and I like the way the bassinet part has a rocker base to use in the home. But at base, I think they’re ugly. Maybe if they came out with another color besides black and brown (or the special beige one.) I’d much rather have a Stokke Xplory for a stroller, although it’s not a system with a car seat. The Xplory, as far as I could tell rolling it around in a couple of stores, is very comfortable to use and turns very easily. And I love the idea of having infants up high where you can interact more easily with them or have them up at a table like a high chair. However, a $900+ stroller was not in our budget nor in that of our friend and family–for less than the price of either the Xplory or the Orbit, we were given the top of the line Maclaren, a BOB Revolution, a Graco carseat and a Graco SnugRider. But then we’re just ordinary people (who run and need a BOB), not celebrities!
