Giada De Laurentiis In Page Six Magazine

Giada de Laurentiis, the celebrity chef on Food Network’s Everyday Italian and author of two New York Times best-selling cookbooks, is on the cover of this week’s Page Six Magazine. The 38-year-old new mom talks about welcoming marriage and a child into her life, her sex appeal and her future projects.

Giada is married to Todd Thompson, a fashion designer for Anthropologie. The couple welcomed their first child, Jade Marie De Laurentiis Thompson, on March 29, 2008. Giada said she wasn’t sure she’d ever get married or have children,

“I never cared about marriage. I was more worried about working, and really didn’t think I’d have kids. Then Todd turned 40 and I guess he thought to himself, ‘I think I’d like to marry Giada.'”

Giada hopes to instill an appreciation for her home country (she was born in Rome) in her daughter. Giada sings Jade the Italian lullabies that were once sang to her as a child. Her husband has his own family traditions to pass down to Jade,

“He will always tell the story of how his grandmother would take him to McDonald’s and Burger King. And he says, ‘I can’t wait to take Jade.'”

Giada admits she dresses somewhat sexy on her show, but denies an intentional seductive approach,

“Porn? I’m not doing porn! What the hell are people talking about? [It’s not] PBS-style cooking. I mean, I love Lidia [Bastianich], but [she’s] kind of boring. And Mario Batali [I] love to death…but he’s not romantic or sensual. Those are the things I bring to the table.”

Giada’s popular show, Everyday Italian, is now on a break but the celebrity chef has been ‘cooking up’ a plethora of other projects to fill her plate. She is working on a new show, Giada at Home and a fourth cookbook.

Erm. Wow. I like Giada, but she needs to get over herself…in every one of her cooking shows she’s got massive cleavage.

She’s just another chef, not a goddess.

That being said, I’ll probably still watch her show.

Some women just like to show cleavage. I think it is fine if done tastefully, but you watch TV these days and it is cleavage everywhere.

I miss the days when we ladies (before my time, unfortunately) dressed like ladies, not tramps, and left a little to the imagination. I don’t think Giada is trashy at all. I find her very tasteful, but about 9 times out of 10, she is wearing something lowcut.

Thank goodness the visible thong thing is over. That was terrible.
