Coronation Street's Samia Smith Expecting!

Coronation Street's Samia Smith Expecting!

Actress Samia Smith, who plays Maria Connor on Coronation Street, is pregnant! Samia, 26, and her husband Matt Smith are expecting their first child this fall.

The happy news breaks at a difficult time for Samia, whose father died of cancer just last week, though she tells The Sun, "I am so pleased that we were able to tell my dad about the baby before he died."

Coronation Street is in the midst of an incredible baby boom, with Samia being the latest of many of the show's stars to share their baby news: Andy Whyment (Kirk Sutherland), Ryan Thomas (Jason Grimshaw), Jack P. Shepherd (David Platt), Julia Haworth (Claire Peacock), Alison King (Carla Connor) and Jane Danson (Leanne Battersby) have all welcomed babies in recent months, whilel Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald) and Graeme Hawley (John Stape) are looking forward to their new arrivals later this year!

Congratulations to Samia and Matt!
