Kate Winslet Covers Marie Claire

Oscar-winner and mom-of-two Kate Winslet graces the cover of the June issue of UK’s Marie Claire.

In the interview Kate recalls her childhood struggle with her weight and adds, “Even now I do not consider myself to be some kind of great, sexy beauty. I don’t mind the way I’m ageing. No reason to panic just yet. I think I look my age, and that’s fine.”

Kate, who is mom to kids Mia, 8, and Joe, 5, recently announced that she is suing London’s Daily Mail for libel, saying that a “very unpleasant and nasty” recent article “injured her personal and professional reputation.”

The piece was written in response to a recent interview Kate, 33, did with Elle magazine, in which she said, “I don’t go to the gym because I don’t have time, but I do Pilates workout DVDs for 20 minutes or more every day at home.”

The Daily Mail‘s response? “[Kate] has become, in my opinion, as drippy and as impossibly vain as the rest of them,” writes the author. “She caught a nasty dose of Hollywooditis. It happens to the best of them, of course it does. It is the duplicitousness that enrages me and most other women I have spoken to.”

Interestingly, Kate touches on media criticism in general in Marie Claire, saying, “They just go for the personal now in a way I think can be really crushing.”

I’m kind of sick of her talking about her weight all the time.
