Paris Jackson: I Love You Daddy
An unveiled and grief-stricken 11-year-old Paris Katherine Jackson, Michael Jackson's daughter, addressed mourners at the Staples Center on Tuesday (July 7), telling them her daddy was "the best father you could ever imagine." The only daughter of the late Jackson tearfully stated,
Ever since I was born, daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine. And I just wanted to say I love him so much."
Her aunt, pop star Janet Jackson, protectively took her into her arms before the entire Jackson family left the stage. All eyes were on the young girl as it marked one of the first times Jackson’s daughter has ever been heard publicly.
All three of Jackson's children, Prince, 12, Paris and Blanket, 7, who were often hidden by veils or blankets when seen with their father, were sitting in the front row at the Staples Center for the 2-hour tribute as their father's life and music were remembered.
Stars such as Mariah Carey, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Usher and an expectant Jennifer Hudson sang special tributes to the late singer the world came to know as the King of Pop.
The Rev. Al Sharpton spoke of Jackson's contributions to the world of music. He then addressed Michael's children: "There wasn't nothing strange about your daddy," he said. "It was strange what your daddy had to deal with, but he dealt with it."
Fellow celebrity parent and good friend, Brooke Shields, who was 13 when she became close friends with Jackson, said they bonded "because we both understood what it was like to be in the spotlight from a very, very young age." Rowan and Grier's mom went on to say, "What we did do was laugh. It was always a competition to see who could make the other one laugh more or be sillier."
The custody of Jackson's three children remains unknown at this time.

Typical idiotic statement by Sharpton. "Hey kids, don't worry, your dad wasn't really a freak although everybody thought he was." That should make them feel better.
Blanket & Prince resemble MJ very, very much!! And Paris is a very lovely and beautiful young girl. May god be with them!
Al Sharpton seems like a strange guy. We can all sit here and lie because MJ is dad but I'd rather we be honest. He was strange. I just hate it that when someone dies you can no longer say the truth.
I feel sad for those children they lost their father and now they are in the public eye that he always tried to keep them out of and they will be living with the family that made him "strange".
Wow so refreshing to FINALLY see them unveiled/unmasked. They are such beautiful children, and I'm pretty sure they're from the inside as well. God rest your soul Michael, you did many good deeds in this world, including raising those children the right away

What beautiful children. My heart breaks for them. I hope they are not split up when all this custody stuff is over with. My thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time and I pray that they will feel joy again soon.

anna and anon, can't we spend a few moments talking and rejoicing about MJ's life and not being sooo critical. this article was about his little girl saying good things about her daddy and you two make it so negative. the man didn't murder anyone, he was giving, and a firm believer in Christ. I cannot believe after years and yearsss of talking crap about this man people still aren't done, even after his death. tisk tisk

I hope after all this dies down these children would be left alone. They deserve that much. I can't imagine not being able to do the simplest task that we all take for granted. Think for a moment what it would be like to have been Michael Jackson. He was who he was through no fault of his own. He shared his Gift and in return was given grief. I will forever treasure what he has left behind. Through every stage of my life Michael Jackson was there. His music still gives me goosebumps and moves me through melody and words. All his critics only wish they can inspire as he has, and envy that no one will ever feel that way about them. Please lets not feed the masses by posting anymore pictures of his children.

Yes, the best moment of the whole extravaganza - Paris' heartfelt words. Made us all weep. However, the truth is that if her daddy had been truly devoted to his children, he would have given up his drugs, gotten clean and sober and, probably, lived to help them through to adulthood.
^ We really don't know what Michael went through. He was under a lot of stress and has been through a lot of downs in his life!! We're NOBODY to judge.
SO sorry to see the King OF Pop's kids for the first time and with broken harts its so sad I cried with you Paris I know what its like to say goodbye to your father I to loss my father , I know your pain ,I hope and pray that you will know that his love for you will go on for as long as you live because just like GOD your daddy is in your heart. a lot of people seem to forget that amidst all the crazy fans, media attention, gossip, speculation and lies about MJ's death, there are still three little heartbroken children who have lost the only parent they ever knew
