Kelis Welcomes Baby Boy Knight!

OK! Magazine reports that singer Kelis has welcomed her first child – a baby boy named Knight!

It is believed that the 29-year-old delivered her baby today in a New York Hospital after going into labor yesterday morning.

The father, Kelis’ estranged husband Nas, 35, was not allowed to be present at the birth, confirms his lawyer.

A source said: “Nas is in New York City, anxiously awaiting the arrival of his son. It was his intention to be there for the birth, but unfortunately he has not been allowed to be present. While this is clearly heartbreaking to him, Nas continues to offer his support and love to his new baby boy and his mother.”

No further details have been released.

Kelis filed for divorce from Nas back in April, citing Irreconcilable Differences.

That’s sad. On the one hand I can completely understand needing to have as easy a delivery as possible, wanting no stress from the soon to be ex-husband but on the other hand it really gets me when a person is barred from their child’s birth if they couldn’t even be in the waiting room. All I hope is that it wasn’t done with spiteful intentions. Otherwise thats not a good way to bring a child into the world.

She must be really upset with Nas, if she didnt let him be there.. She filed for divorce being only like 4 months along.. Im almost sure that the reason was that he cheated on her… What else could happen all of a sudden?? And especially while pregnancy

He wasn’t allowed to attend the birth because he showed up drunk after doing a show. Idiot.

He made a stupid choice which blocked him from seeing his ex in labor. It looks like he got drunk, she went into labor around the same time and he went there to see his child. That doesn’t sound like neglect or like it was premeditated just incredibly dumb and untimely.
