Jennifer Lopez On Marriage & Motherhood

Jennifer Lopez is the picture of Hollywood glamour on the cover of the September issue of In Style magazine. In the interview, though, the movie star mom - twins Max and Emme are 18 months old - focuses more on family than on fame, opening up about her high profile marriage to singer Marc Anthony, and the profound ways that motherhood has changed her.

"There's nothing as huge as giving birth to another human being and having to be responsible for another life," Jennifer says. "There's you before kids, and there's you after kids – and they're not the same you."

Like most parents, the 40-year-old mom says that becoming a parent has changed her outlook on life.

"It totally changes your perspective on everything. You don't come first anymore. There's somebody else you care more about than yourself."

J.Lo and her husband Marc Anthony celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary in June, but she admits that when in comes to love and marriage she's "still figuring it out as I go along."

"I'm old enough to know now that relationships take work," she adds. "That's it's not an easy thing."

The Jenny from the Block singer also addresses her "Diva" reputation, saying, "There was this rumor that I needed white flowers and white linens wherever I went: 'Everything has to be white or she won’t go in the room!' That's not true."
