Jon Gosselin: Stop “Kate Plus 8”

Days after learning that Jon & Kate Plus 8 will continue as Kate Plus 8, PEOPLE reports that Jon Gosselin has demanded through his lawyers to stop the show immediately or face potential criminal charges.

“Effective immediately, no production crews are to enter Jon’s family home for any reason,” a letter from Jon’s attorney says. “In the event that anyone enters the marital property, Jon Gosselin will notify the local authorities to effectuate police action against any trespassers.”

The estranged husband of Kate Gosselin is speaking out about his reasons for ceasing production of the show through his manager, Mike Heller.

“Basically we’ve put a halt on the show,” Mike Heller explains. “Jon has been talking to TLC for a long time to cut back on the production and still honor his contract – because it’s been getting in the way of his family, his children are complaining. aIt’s been hurting the relationship that he’s trying to reconcile with his wife – he’s trying to get back with her as a parent,” Heller adds. “They are the mom and dad of their children [but] they talk by text message. He wants to take 90 days.”

Heller goes on to address the rumors that Jon was fired. He also states that Jon has made “mistakes” and is working toward taking “responsibility” for his actions.

“People are reporting he was fired. He was never fired. They just changed the name,” Heller says. “This is not a ploy – it’s an approach that he thinks will help him reconcile with his wife. He’s acknowledged he’s made mistakes and shouldn’t have been running around. He took advantage of his freedom after he got it. It hurt his reputation,” Heller says. “He’s taken responsibility and you don’t see him running wild any more. He hasn’t been out partying. He’s taken a look at his himself in the mirror and he wasn’t happy, it’s not who he was. He never cheated on his wife. His wife is the one who ended the relationship,” he says.

TLC released the following statement earlier today in response to Jon’s attempts to end the show:

“We … remain deeply disappointed at [Jon Gosselin]’s continued erratic behavior. He and the family were shooting as recently as last Friday, without incident, and his latest comments are grossly inaccurate, without merit and are clearly opportunistic. Despite Jon Gosselin’s repeated self destructive and unprofessional actions, he remains under an exclusive contract with TLC.”

this is the only smart thing that either of them has done. Take those poor kids of the show.

We are disgusting with our insatiable desire to be voyeurs in the destruction of a family.

Well, let’s see. It seems like Jon actually left the family first. Went traipsing throught France with a girl friend. Getting his own play in NYC. Girl after girl…I think at last count there were at least three. NOW, that Kate is trying to support herself & the children. Here comes Jon crying about how he’s made a terrible mistake. Well, DUH!! This just seems like more erratic behavior. Perhaps, he needs to have a psych eval done to see if he’s mentally stable.

Oh, please. The last 2-3 years of that marriage were a sham. Kate is, at the least, a verbally and emotionally abusive control freak. Let’s not forget that she as total backing & spin control from TLC, who doesn’t care about anyhing but those 8 little cash cows.

Jon is not wearing a white hat, but this show needs to be stopped.

He needs to hire a trainer and stylist with the money he makes off his kids.

While I give Kate credit for trying to make money “for the kids” I applaud Jon for finally stopping this train wreck his family is on. It’s to much bad publicity to much negative press to much BS for these kids to be involved in. I think it was a slap in the face to Jon when they changed the name. I think Kate is milking the cash cow %110. She’s been on the View, she’s planning a show with Paula Dean. She’s certainly taking full advantage of her 15 minutes of fame. I personally hope Jon gets his way with this. Enough already. Stop the madness.

I thinks this marriage is over whether the show goes on or not. I believe his young girlfriends and saying how he “hated her” in his interview has doomed it. But without this show the parents will probably need to get real jobs unless they seriously saved and invested the show income. They seemed to spend their money pretty easily so maybe there isn’t much left.

I think it is really funny and quite telling that he decided to put a hault on the show once he learned that he was basically being cut out of it. I think this show should have been stopped a long time ago but its now very clear what his true motivations are. I cringe every time one of them says they do this “for the kids”…clearly not the case.

So whats next ?? He is a dead beat and needs to get a job and get ready to pay about 30,000 in child support or month or else go to jail…

I have always thought Kate was rather controlling towards Jon. Though she is a great Mom! I saw that as time went on He could not even speak without being corrected THOUGH HE IS THE ONE WHO ALLOWED IT TO BE THAT WAY. I could also see he did not seem happy. He did not handle his freedom and time to “find” himself again in the best way. In all fairness anyone who feels they have lost who they are in an effort to make someone happy has probably also felt a little lost in the process of finding who they are or who they want to be with out the other in their life. The difference is they are not in the public eye and their children are easier to sheild from their mistakes. I am sure that we all may make questional decisions during a divorce. For Right now I really think the show should take a break. As long as the show goes on, the parents stay in the lime light. As a result the media has shown us things that are better not to be seen by the children. I mean they can see, hear and some of them can read! They don’t need to see this. Any person who is going through divorce may make bad decisions while adjusting. The difference is most children would not see it plastered all over in the media. Laying low should be a no brainer for both of them. THEY HAVE BOTH MADE MISTAKES AND BOTH COMMENTED ON THE OTHER TO THE MEDIA AND YOU CAN NOT EVEN GO TO THE STORE WITH OUT SEEING THEM PLASTERED ALL OVER EVERY MAGAZINE! IN THE BEGINNING THEY BOTH SAID THEIR CHILDREN WERE THE MOST IMPORTANT. THIS CAN NOT BE GOOD FOR THEM. I FEEL THEY NEED TO TAKE A BREAK AND GET IT TOGETHER. GET THE DIVORCE. LET THE COURT SAY WHO GETS WHAT AND WHAT CUSTODY ARRANGEMENTS WILL PE PERMINANT AND THEN LET THE DUST SETTLE. GIVE IT A CHANCE TO LET THE BICKERING STOP. THEN IF THEY CAN HANDLE IT THEY CAN LET THE PUBLIC BACK IN. I FOR ONE DO NOT SEE AIRING THE DIRTY LAUNDRY AS PUTTING THE CHILDREN FIRST.
