Naomi Watts: Kids Are "Surprising And Endlessly Fascinating"

Mom-of-two Naomi Watts says she often finds herself awestruck by her boys Sasha, 2, and Kai, 10 months.
In a new interview with UK newspaper The Independent, the star of The Painted Veil admits that raising kids can sometimes seem "bizarre."
"I'm a mum and the whole concept is science fiction. It is just bizarre. I still can't believe it when I look at my children that they came from one little moment and they're people. They're babies and people and they learn and figure out all these things and you go, 'God I can't believe it'. They're so surprising and endlessly fascinating and soon they're going to have problems. Now they're just innocent little beings, learning and growing, but soon they'll be all f*cked up," she says before adding, "Sorry I didn't mean to go there."
Though she's now in a committed relationship and raising children with actor Liev Schreiber, Naomi reveals that she can identify with her character in the upcoming film Mother & Child, who puts career before family.
"Certainly, at the beginning, when things were taking off for me in America, I was on the treadmill and I didn't want to have a relationship particularly," the 41-year-old actress says. "I wanted to travel a lot. I come from a background, that was not a troubled childhood or anything, but there has been some sadness, perhaps that I didn't want to face and work seemed like a good option. But now I've changed a lot. I've slowed down and have a family. When I met Liev things changed."
