Silikids: Silicone Must Haves For Your Children

Silikids: Silicone Must Haves For Your Children

With all the hype on BPAs and the toxicity in various baby bottles, most mothers are opting for glass instead of plastic.

Silikids has come up with some brilliant products including an entire line of Siliskins which protect glass bottles and cups. All the materials used are not only non toxic and hypoallergenic, they are also free of bisphenol-A, lead, PVC and phtalates!

One of their new products, the 6 oz. Siliskin glass, is perfect for toddlers who have graduated onto using the big kid's cups. It offers excellent grip, preventing slippage and protects against breaking glass. In the event that the glass does break, the silicone's extra protections keeps the glass inside the liner instead of all over your floors.

I tested the Siliskin glass with my 3-year-old daughter who has a habit of dropping things on our ceramic floors. Over the last couple of weeks, she dropped the glass several times and it is still intact with no chips or cracks, thanks to the silicone protection.

I have also used the small wideneck sized Siliskins on our stainless steel water bottles to give them a better grip. They are also meant to be used on various sized glass baby bottles for those of you who have made the plastic to glass switch.

Another great product by Silikids is their Silibib. Designed to lie flat on your child's chest, is such a great alternative to cloth or plastic bibs. There is no need to throw it in the wash when it gets dirty, you just wipe and go.

Celebrity Moms such as Jessica Alba, Brooke Burke Charvet and Heidi Klum use Silikids products for their little ones!

I have a question. You said that we can use them on stainless steal bottles. What brand? We use the kleen kanteen 12 oz for my girls. Do you think it would work on those?

Nadia said:

Yes they work great on Kleen Kanteens :). Those are the ones we use as well!

The "Universal Small Wideneck Siliskins" fit 12 oz Kleen Kanteens.

While we are talking about PVC Free items for kids a great compliment and cheap item to go with the Silikins is a PVC Free Placemat for kids in which kids can write all over them...they are called Chalk Mat's and are great for killing time before dinner and to take with you to restaurants
