Jake Gyllenhaal: "Kids Become The Center Of Your Life"

Amidst rumors of a split, Jake Gyllenhaal has indicated that he and his longtime girlfriend Reese Witherspoon are indeed still together.

Speaking to Grazia Australia on Thursday, the Brothers star revealed how his life has changed thanks to his sister Maggie Gyllenhaal's daughter Ramona, 3, and Reese's kids Ava, 10, and Deacon, 6.

"I've learned so much from the kids in my life, and somehow they just become the center of your life and the way you look at things," Jake said. "Obviously I exist in my girlfriend's world and my sister's world in a different way, but it's opened my heart and I feel much more grown up and want to be grown up as a result of it."

When asked specifically about the status of his relationship with the Walk the Line star, though, Jake chose to stay mum, saying only, "As I get more famous, there is less that is just mine so I hope you understand I want to protect that as much as I can. I understand the news cycle, I really do, but as we all know news cycles come and go and I don't have to comment on them."

People magazine reported last week that the couple of over two years had gone their separate ways, though reps for both quickly denied the news.

Jake has a tie to another of our favorite famous tots: He's godfather to Michelle Williams and Heath Ledger's 3-year-old daughter Matilda.
