American Idol’s Jessica Sierra Welcomes A Baby Boy
| Dec 9, 2009 by DESIREE FAWN |

Just hours after giving birth, former American Idol finalist Jessica Sierra, spoke with Radar Online via video from her hospital bed with her newborn baby boy in her arms.
Kayden Cash, who was born December 5 at UCLA Medical Center, gets his middle name from his mother’s love for Johnny Cash. He came into the world with a full head of hair, weighing in at 6lbs, 12oz.
Jessica, who is often called the "Fallen Idol" due to her post Season 4 decline into alcohol and drugs and eventually jail, is now completely clean and sober and “deliriously happy” about the arrival of her son.
Two years since her appearance on Dr. Drew’s Celebrity Rehab, Jessica has learned from her mistakes and is optimistic about her future:
I think things happen in life and don’t let your past get you down. You can always overcome anything if you want to and be a better person, so don’t let people tell you that you can’t.
The 24-year-old AI alum admits that her son wasn’t planned, but that she still couldn’t be happier in her new role: “I was not married, I wasn’t like, ‘Yeah I was planning on having a child,’ but I don’t resent it,” she explains.
Though the exactly identity of Kayden’s father has not been revealed, the proud new mom did say that he is a “former boyfriend” and now “a very good friend”.
Congratulations Jessica!
