Hugh Jackman & Ava Go For A Stroll

Hugh Jackman was photographed pushing his 4-year-old daughter Ava in a stroller after picking her up from school and then taking her to a gymnastics center in New York City on Monday (February 1).

The 41-year-old Wolverine star recently commented on the importance of having an inexpensive stroller.

No amount of gym work readies you for the dead weight of a child who’s asleep for an hour through the park. And I’ve done that before. We have a nice, cheap, 20-buck stroller. We lose them everywhere. We leave them places.”

Hugh and his wife Deborra Lee-Furness are also parents to 9-year-old son Oscar.

Hugh, Ava’s four, she shouldn’t be being pushed around in a stroller. But, if you insist on doing so, trust me, it’ll be a lot easier with one that costs more than 20 bucks. You’re a million dollar Hollywood star, open the purse strings a little, babe.

and while you’re at it, buy your wife some non-black clothes.

Yeah, and if he was pushing a $500 stroller and admitted to leaving them everywhere, you’d criticize him for that. It’s his business whether or not he pushes his kid in a stroller. There are many times he’s got her on his shoulders or she’s running ahead on the sidewalk. Ava seems to be a very happy kid, so her parents are doing it right.

I don’t think he has a say in his wife’s choice of clothing.

There is nothing as easy as critizise another one´s person child, wife, the way how they are raising their kids, right? Ava is obviously a very happy child – she is often running around. If he thinks she is too tired or if he is in hurry, it´s his business how he handles his child. People shoud care for their own kids and families, not to spend critizising families of another, decent people.

I think his explanation of why they have cheap strollers is very logical! She is still a little kid and walking can be very tiring, especially after playing somewhere children are often very tired.

I think he’s doing a great job on his kids!

We often see either Hugh or Deb pushing the empty stroller while the other has the child. They also often ride scooters.

I think we are forgetting how hard it is to maneuver around in a crowed city. I had criticized this choice in the past (when Ava was still 3) until I went to NYC to visit a friend. That visit changed my mind, fast. Nothing is as scary as being totally surrounded by adults and not being able to see your child. I think we would all do well to remember to walk a mile in their shoes (rich or poor) before making harsh commentaries.

OH! And to the person commenting on Deb’s clothing choices, where is she in these pictures that it is necessary to tear her down? Deb and Hugh are great parents. Instead of commenting on that you you comment on her clothes? How petty.

It’s common in NYC to walk 20 or 30 blocks when you’re out running errands. Good luck getting a four year old to manage that and not needing a ride home. There are lots of celebrity parents out there worthy of some criticism; this family isn’t one of them.
