Lionel Richie: "I Cannot Wait To Give Away The Bride!"

Father-of-the-bride Lionel Richie, 60, is over the moon with the recent announcement of his daughter Nicole’s engagement to Joel Madden.

“My happiness for Nicole and Joel knows no boundaries,” the 60-year-old singer tells PEOPLE. “They have given me two beautiful grandchildren, Harlow and Sparrow, and have proven to be great parents.”

The proud grandpa gushed in anticipation for the big day:

I am not sure who is luckier, Nicole and Joel to have each other, or me, to have both of them in my life. I cannot wait to give away the bride!

Recently, Lionel helped to executive produce the We Are The World remake for Haiti, which both Joel and Nicole participated in, along with daughter Harlow. The 28-year-old mom-of-two tweeted during the event, “I was 4 years old in a studio watching my dad record We Are The World, & today I get to do it again. Excited to help make a change.”
