Bethenny Frankel Dishes On Pregnancy & Friendships
| Feb 26, 2010 by HEIDI ORAN |

Real Housewives of New York City star Bethenny Frankel is one busy mom-to-be! The reality show star/chef is in the midst of planning her wedding to fiancé Jason Hoppy, preparing the nursery for their new baby set to arrive this summer, has a new cookbook out, The Skinnygirl Dish, and is working on a spin-off of Housewives'. In an interview with PEOPLE, she reveals details of her pregnancy, and she also gives US Weekly a few tidbits on her Housewives friendships.
On the baby's gender:
"I want to know what I’m having but my fiancé won’t let me find out. My fans think it is a boy. They say a girl steals your beauty and I don’t look deformed yet."
On changing her diet for pregnancy:
"Your diet is still a bank account [when you're pregnant], you just have more to spend. I am not drinking alcohol or that much coffee but I’m craving orange juice. And split pea soup — it is like somebody else eating hot fudge. I could die over it. I had a moment a few days ago with a corn beef sandwich. It was like food porn. I was enjoying it so much that it should have been illegal."
On preparing the home for baby:
"We haven’t really figured out what we are doing about the baby’s room. We are both clueless. My fiancé, Jason Hoppy, has been looking at cribs, saying, “We have to get the baby’s room in order now.” I’m like, “Relax, we have [time]."
On how she stays fit during pregnancy:
"Doing yoga 2 to 3 times per week for about an hour each time."
Frankel also shared some insight into her friendship with fellow Housewives' star Jill Zarin, saying, "There are a lot of cracks in the foundation of our relationship. The list isn't done yet."
Fans of the show can look out for the new season of The Real Housewives of New York premiering March 4, 11 p.m. EST on Bravo featuring the drama that we have come to expect. Of the new season Frankel says, "There are a lot of things turned upside down. Alliances have changed and friendships have had some tests. Not everything is the same as it was last season."
