Padma Lakshmi Wants “Peace And Privacy”

Earlier this week, it was revealed that the father of Padma Lakshmi’s daughter Krishna is American venture capitalist Adam Dell. However, the 39-year-old Top Chef host isn’t about to dish on the couple’s former relationship just yet.

“I have a newborn!” she tells PEOPLE. “I just want some peace and privacy.”

After announcing her pregnancy in October, the mom-to-be was about to keep quiet about the paternity of her child, but a source close to her confirms that Adam is in fact Krishna’s father.

“They had an on-and-off minimal relationship that ended many, many months ago,” says the source, adding that an earlier report stating that the couple is working out visitation rights is “inaccurate”.

“There already is a very fair agreement in place,” continues the source. “She doesn’t want anything from him. She’s juggling all of this with motherhood and preparing to go back to work and it’s a lot to handle.”

Padma, who welcomed baby Krishna Thea on February 20, recently gushed jokingly to PEOPLE about her newest addition: “She’s very independent and very funny. She’s a good communicator and is very witty already.”
