Marcia Gay Harden: Kids Need A Regimen To Follow

Actress Marcia Gay Harden may see motherhood as a "glorious hijacking," but she says she still manages to enforce a few important rules at home with her kids Eulala, 11, and twins Julitta and Hudson, 5.

“We eat breakfast together every morning, we eat dinner together every night. We don’t feed the dog at the table," Marcia tells OK! "There’s a certain bath time, there’s a certain go-to-bedtime. People who have other mothers think I’m strict. The kids stay up too late, but I like to have a regimen that they can follow. I think they need it.”

When the topic of marriage comes up, the Oscar-winner is quick to dismiss the so-called Oscar curse. Wed for 14 years to her husband Thaddeus Scheel, Marcia shares her secrets to maintaining a successful career and a happy marriage.

“It’s hard. It’s not easy. The balls drop, but we talk. We have conversations, we have therapy, we try to reaffirm what we want to be with each other and for each other with the kids. It’s constant work – that’s how.”

Marcia currently has three projects in the works, including the upcoming animated film Noah's Ark: The New Beginning.
