Angelina Jolie's Children Are Confused By Mom On The Big-Screen

Mom-of-six Angelina Jolie is returning to the big screen this summer, in Salt, an action flick co-starring fellow celeb parent Liev Schreiber. The busy mom is currently promoting her film in Mexico, and brought along her four oldest children, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, and Shiloh.

The children have not watched their mom on screen much, and according to Jolie, they had their first glimpse of mom in a preview for Salt. Jolie revealed at a press conference, via US Weekly,

"Half of them were uninterested. Pax got upset because someone was trying to hurt his mom. He saw [my] feet wrapped and he got mad. But then I explained to him that I'm fine. They're very confused, to be honest. I think they don't quite know what to think. Even the change of hair color is confusing for them."

Jolie then revealed that daughter Shiloh had some pointers for her after seeing the preview, saying, "Shiloh wanted me to get my hair cut short."

Partner Brad Pitt remained in Los Angeles with the couples twins Knox and Vivienne. Jolie touched on Pitt's role in encouraging her return to work a year after the twins were born, calling him "very supportive."

So, little girls with short hair are boys?!?!

Sophie Smith said:

Nice logic. What the person was trying to say is that girls with short hair don't looks as girly or as nice as girls with long hair. Why do you think that most girls in the world love having long hair? Anyway it's not like anyone's forbidden from having any hairstyle they want, but don't expect people to lie to you that it looks good when it doesn't.

Isn't Salt rated R or PG-13... why are her kids watching the movie in the first place? There are plenty of movies out there for them to watch.

Um, they just saw a preview.

It's hilarious how people/haters will stretch so far to be critical of this family...

(Cue all the silly comments about how Shiloh's life is going to be so messed up because her parents allow her to have short hair!)

No it's hilarious how people/haters will stretch so far to be critical of ANGELINA. Brad has said some pretty shady stuff but it never gets the attention that angelina would get if she said the same. For example: Brad once said he would quit drinking because Zahara almost died under his care when he was drinking. she choked on ice and he had a hard time acting fast because he was under the influence. AND it was also revealed By Tarantino that Brad Pitt smokes dope and gets drunk when the children are in the house. IF Angelina admitted that crap she would be burned up non stop.

when were these things revealed? if brad admitted this or quentin revealed this it woulda made the news.

Prove it please. Show us when he said that.

The thing about zahara and the ice cube was in DETAILS magazine and the thing about QT and the dope was on HOWARD STERN.

sure! and there was no nanny? no bodyguard? nobody? and brad was drunk? and then? an alien came??

That person isn't making it up, Brad said it himself... it was his words, so maybe you should be questioning him. Go look up the interviews and you will know it is true.

Helene said:

I looked it up and could only find speculation that the ice cube story was true. All stories from blogs, gossip columns, magazines, etc. I couldn't find the article from Details. In regards to Howard Stern....not believing it.

Maddox also saw knocked up when it came and some war themed movies and video games, both Brad and Angelina have said so themselves.

I'm not a hater, I'm a big fan of Brad and Angelina and I love their family too, however, I don't agree with every single thing they do and the kids have seen movies that are PG-13 or rated R before. Maddox gets to play bloody war and violence games that are designed for teens and older.

My father is one of the most famous actors in Brazil and i am 34 years old. And i still feel a little sad when i see him hurt on the big or the little screen!

I think it's absolutely normal for the kids to be a little confused!

Anonymous said:

yeah, but u're old enough to know it's a film, whereas they think it's for real.

Cathy said:

When i was BORN my father was already super famous. And when I was 6 he did a movie where he was brutally murdered. Even though he was sitting right next to me i still felt confused.

And also, when your parents are as famous as ours are, it's almost impossible to forbid the kids to see this. It as if your parents are lawyers and you never see a Constitution. It's what they do.

I'm not defending them. It's just that sometimes people just don't know.
Being famous makes people wonder about the reality of what goes on inside an artist's household. They are as normal, and FLAWED as any normal parent.

Cathy, If you're not allowed to see it then you can't see it, no matter how famous your parents are. Take Dan Radcliffe, at the age of 10 he was in a film called The Tailor of Panama, but as the film was rated 16+ he wasn't allowed to see it although he was in it. Simple! :) And forgive me, but how were you even allowed at the theatre at the age of 6 watching a film featuring a death scene???

Angelina said the childred saw a PREVIEW of the movie, meaning they saw the trailer, not the entire movie!! Do you people have trouble with reading comprehension??? And she was sitting right there with them. The kids were confused, not scared, and their mother was there to explain things to them. Stop being stupid!!

Shirilicious said:

No matter if they saw a preview, the whole movies or just parts of it, it's clearly not a movie for little kids, so why show them something like that?
But generally speaking, I'm amazed how some parents let their little children watch things that are completely age-inappropriate.
And while I don't know about the ice cube incident, I do remember the Tarantino interview, he said that.
P.S. Just saw the trailer and despite an MPAA approval I wouldn't let my little kid watch it, but to each their own.

In the preview of her new movie the character of Angelina Jolie is clrealy distressed during most of it, so I don't understand why she would show it to her kids. Obviously they can see that she is okay if she was sitting next to them, but most of them are too young to understand that it is only a film, and they could have easily thought that it actually happened to her, in fact they probably did think that at first. To be honest I think her mothering quite often leaves much to be desired for... We'll see how the kids turn out when they're grown up though. Until then all we can all have is an opinion. I wish good luck to her little ones, they seem like good kids.

Have some of you people accessory seen the trailer for this movie? Because there is nothing wrong with children seeing it it’s not like they saw the entire movie it was like a 3 min clip if that. I seen the same if not more vileness in a episode of SpongeBob then I saw in this trailer Some of you people need to get over your self’s.

Lindsey said:

I don't think she showed her kids, she took them along and they happened to play it at one point, and she didn't take them out of the room. I don't think she sat them down and said "watch Mommy" it was just kind of there and they noticed her in it.

I'm getting really tired of the fact that it seems we have to agree with this family in everything if not we are jelous or-and haters. C'mon any family is perfect so i wouldn't excpect this one to be so. Get over with yourselves and accept that not everyone agrees or with their family methods

OMG my kids just saw the trailer for Salt and Inception last night I guess someone should call CPS on me. Provide the link where Brad or Angie say Maddox saw "Knocked up" and bloody war games and movies. Please
