Michael Douglas Wants A Year-Long Trip With Family

Michael Douglas is already making plans with his family even though he hasn’t completed his chemotherapy and radiation treatment yet.

The actor, who has throat cancer, is remaining optimistic and wants to take his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, and their two children, Dylan, 10 and Carys, 7, on a year-long vacation.

“Catherine and I are talking about taking the kids out of school for a year and trying to go around the world – that would be nice…”, he tells Britain’s Live magazine.

He adds, “There are other things I want to do at this stage in life. I would like to finally learn some Spanish. But my focus is my family.”

Douglas and Zeta-Jones have the same birthday of September 25. The couple were seen going out to dinner that night. Their children celebrated too by attending the Broadway production of Stomp. The actor turned 66 and the actress turned 41.

After Stage 4 throat cancer, I would think that Michael would have to be (or want to be) near his own doctors, for post care and follow-up, to make sure it has not suddenly spread or return!!! How can they just pick up and travel the world right after ?? And to take a 10 year old special needs child out of his recommended special school would be neglectful to Dylan’s educational needs ? A tutor is not specialized enough. Think again, Mom and Dad. Your children need to come first. As well as your health Michael. Wow ! That is too irresponsible for a whole year.
