Padma Lakshmi’s Exhausting Schedule

Padma Lakshmi gave birth to her first child, Krishna, in February, but she’s not letting motherhood slow her down one bit. Padma detailed her schedule in a recent interview with PopEater and I got exhausted just reading it.

“I woke up at 6AM, I nursed,” the Top Chef host said about the beginning of her day. “Then I ran up and down 70 flights of stairs. Then I had breakfast, then went to the gym and lifted weights for an hour. Then I walked home.” Wow – I would have been ready to call it a day after breakfast.

But in spite of her hectic schedule Padma is enjoying every minute of being with her daughter. “She’s great. She’s crawling,” she said about the 8-month-old. And the busy mom will still find time to celebrate Halloween as well. “I’m going to dress up, but I haven’t figured out what I’m going to wear,” she said.

It’s not that exhausting when you’ve got somebody else taking care of your child while you’re doing it.

this is what u call exhausting? what?! it’s self-inflicted! just do the stair routine once a day. I seriously thought she was gonna talk nursing, breakfast, nursing, work, work, more work, and more work, get back home, nurse again, calm sleeping kid, sleep for 2hrs, wake up. celebrities don’t really know what busy means.

I like this woman — I really do. But I find the statement about “enjoying every minute with her daughter” ironic, following the description of her several-hour-long workout regime that definitely does not include her daughter. I know women who put their bodies before their own kids and work out religiously… I’m all for being fit and healthy, but this seems a little sad.

Couldn’t agree more with post @ 9:54 pm. It seems like its more about her than the baby.
