To say that there’s tension between Real Housewives of New Jersey star and mom-of-four Teresa Giudice and her sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga, would be a vast understatement. During the Bravo reality show’s season premiere, audiences got a glimpse of the name-calling and other nonsense that’s been tearing the family apart for years, which culminated in a horrifying brawl that took place at the christening of Melissa and Joe Gorga’s son.
Though it’s evident that the rift between Teresa and her younger brother, Joe, began long before RHONJ, Giudice tells In Touch Weekly it’s the fame that’s nearly destroyed her family and her marriage, and now that Melissa and Joe Gorga have joined the show, it’s only gotten worse.
In the exclusive interview, Teresa claims that her brother, Joe, and his wife, Melissa, always wanted the fame that she achieved when she became a Real Housewife. Not wanting to “stoop down to Melissa’s level” and call them “jealous,” Giudice says that she and her brother were once best of friends, and is hurt by reports that he’s urging his wife to speak out against her in the public, simply for the media attention.
“I’m so appalled that they’re doing this just to be on TV,” says Teresa. “You really shouldn’t air your dirty laundry on TV, and my brother and his wife are making it so much worse for us all.”
That includes Teresa and Joe’s four daughters – Gia, 10, Gabriella, 7, Milania, 6, and Audriana, 2 – as well as Melissa and Joe’s children – Antonia, 5, Gino, 3, and Joey, 11 months – for whom she says she’s embarrassed.
