Salma Hayek On Privileges, Breastfeeding, Motherhood
| Aug 16, 2011 by JENNY SCHAFER |

Mom-of-one Salma Hayek looks stunning on the cover of Allure magazine’s September 2011 issue. The 44-year-old actress - who wed French billionaire François-Henri Pinault (his family is worth $11.5 billion) in February 2009 - opens up about her privileged lifestyle and their daughter Valentina, who turns 4 next month.
On breastfeeding and motherhood: "My boobs," she says with a laugh. "They're not bad, by the way. I'm not complaining about them." She famously breastfed a hungry infant in Sierra Leone. "If you have milk, you have milk, and if they're hungry, they're hungry," she says. "I think it's a beautiful thing, because motherhood is a very strong place for women to connect and understand each other."
On privileges and Valentina who speaks English, Spanish, and French: "I never understood the point of being privileged if you don't get to have the privileges. Like, people who won't take their kids to an expensive restaurant, or won't travel with them, or make them pay for everything at a really young age. I think it's important that kids have responsibilities and understand the value of things, but I think it's great that my daughter gets to travel the world."
On her grandmother who inspired her new skincare line: "She started working on my skin when I was 12 or 13. I never used soap on my face. Once, she shaved our heads and put egg on it and all these things. But I have to give her credit—my hair is great."

i am proud of her for feeding that hungry baby
finally a celebrity who admits to taking advantage of the priviliges they clearly have. it seems like they always try to hide the fact they can give their kids all these amazing experiences. I agree with her- why not take your kids out to nice restuarants and around the world if you can? I'm not saying turn kids into spoiled brats, - but if you have those chances- why not use them?
Her feeding that hungry baby was amazing. Made me like her even more.
