Sarah Michelle Gellar: Charlie Loves Starbucks

Sarah Michelle Gellar and husband Freddie Prinze, Jr. both love their caffeine fix first thing in the morning. And it sounds like their 2-year-old daughter Charlotte – who they call “Charlie” – wants to carry on the family tradition.

“My husband and I both like our coffee in the morning and now [Charlie] has taken up to it,” the 34-year-old mom revealed during a Thursday appearance on Conan O’Brien.

“Everything is Starbucks. [Charlie says,] ‘We need to go get coccee,’” Sarah shared.

The Ringer star assured the talk show host, “I don’t let her drink it!”

She added: “But Child Protective Services will get called one day because she likes to get water, but in a hot cup so it looks like she’s drinking an espresso!” she laughed. “They give her those little cups and then she runs around the store.”

The sweet tot doesn’t seem to mind if it’s closer to bedtime – she loves going to the popular coffee spot any time of the day!

“We’ll be driving home at six o’clock at night and she’ll be like, ‘Mama need coccee?’” the Buffy alum said.

I think having a child running around with a hot cup would be more of an issue than letting her ingest caffeine.

Really- I believe she is calling a coffee cup a HOT cup refering to style of cup not temp. The hot cup (coffee cup) with water in it to pretend she has coffee.

a hot cup is a style of cup? news to me.

She’s probably not talking about scalding hot water. I did the same thing when I was little. I turned the water on hot, but it wasn’t nearly hot enough to burn.

If you read the article properly it says they give her water but in a ‘hot cup’. The water is cold.

      I don’t think it’s hot? It’s just a foam cup!
I think this is very cute.

Hot cup as in the paper cups, not the plastic cups. Really?

I think she is talking about a “paper” cup for hot beverages, vs. a “plastic” cup for cold beverages. If you’ve ever ordered an espresso at Starbux, they put it in a tiny little paper cup w/ a lid. So the kid is carrying around a paper cup w/ a lid, with water in it….most likely COLD water. The lid would prevent people from seeing that it’s just water in there, and not espresso, hence her comment. I should be a detective. Haha. j/k.
Sometimes I wish they would make the math questions harder to weed out the slow peeps.

I’m pretty sure she meant she gets them to put water in the cup that they put hot drinks in. Not actually give her hot water in the cup.

i don’t think she means burning hopt like coffee.. she probably means more warm

She doesnt actually have a “Hot” cup. She likes the cups that hot beverages come in and she gets water in it. She basically wants to be just like her mama.

  • Marlee

I think she meant they put her water in a cup meant for hot coffee.
