Mindy McCready “Happy” After Child-Welfare Hearing

An expectant Mindy McCready was in good spirits as she left an Arkansas courthouse following a child-welfare hearing on Monday (December 5).

“WE WON!!! ZAN STAYS,” McCready wrote in a text message to HLN‘s Jane Velez Mitchell that evening. “Court details sealed but we love Judge Lee W. Harrod.”

The hearing was for Mindy’s 5-year-old son Zander after the pair were found hiding in a Heber Springs home Friday night. The troubled country singer, who disappeared with her son a week ago, lost custody of him while she battled substance abuse.

On Monday, she told reporters that she cannot talk about the ruling but said she’s “a happy girl right now.” She added, “I love Judge Harrod, I’ll tell you that. He’s a good man.”

The 36-year-old singer is nearly 7-months pregnant with twins.

After this and the Brooke Mueller post before, it’s sad to see that rich and famous drug addicts are allowed to keep their children. No way this would happen if they were poor or middle class. I feel so sad for the kids, being raised by people whose main priority in life is getting high.

I have been keeping up with this whole situation with Mindy McCready, I’m a fan have been since I was a kid and you know what, she has dealt with her addictions and is trying to put her family back together. I dont judge her wrongly for wanting to fix her life and get her child back. I am a mother and I would do the same thing if I was in her position. Keep Strong Mindy!!!!
