Big news for Britney Spears!
According to Us Weekly, the pop star’s longtime boyfriend and former agent, Jason Trawick, popped the question Thursday night (December 15) while the couple was out celebrating his 40th birthday!
“This is something they’ve both wanted for a long time,” one source tells the magazine.
The couple plan to celebrate their engagement Friday night (December 16) at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
The excited songstress hopped on Twitter with what looked to be a confirmation of the big news:
OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I've been waiting for. Can't wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo
Britney has been married twice before - once to Jason Alexander, which lasted 55 hours, and once to Kevin Federline, who fathered her two sons, 5-year-old Jayden James and 6-year-old Sean Preston. Britney and Kevin divorced in 2007.

I thought she was declared non compos mentis and her father appointed as her guardian. Is she even legally qualified to consent to a marriage proposal?
According to TMZ, she needs permission to marry and it's been granted.
Not yet it hasn't. Per TMZ, "Sources say Britney's conservators have given their stamp of approval. The matter will go before the judge in the conservator case but its a virtual certainty Brit will get the judge's sign off." The only part of this I believe is that a judge will be making the decision for her.
30 years old and married twice. Yeah, okay, clearly it's the gays who are destroying the sanctity of marriage.
I'm happy for her! Glad they didn't rush into it. The boys clearly seem to be comfortable and happy with Jason. I wish them the best of luck!
Why is this news even here on this site? What does it have to do with celebrity children? Are you going to post every piece of celebrity gossip that involves celebs who happen to also have children?
Maybe it's because Spears was a celebrity child herself?
