Gwen Stefani took her son Zuma out for lunch in Santa Monica, Calif. on Wednesday (February 8).
It was a warm sunny day but Gwen expressed her own unique style and wore a long coat with a black scarf. Zuma, 3, was carried by a nanny. He was dressed like a little rocker in a black and white striped top with green pants.
Stefani has been in the studio working with No Doubt on their new album. The new single is called Undone.
On the band's Twitter account someone wrote: "I know it looks like we are all sitting around but we're actually working on this record very intensely :)"
Gwen also adds her own Tweets occasionally. Two days ago she wrote: "NY Fashion week is all starting to bubble exciting gx"

Urgh, these pictures always piss me off. I mean, why is it necessary for the nanny to be holding the child when the mother isn't doing anything?
If a total stranger's childcare choices piss you off, perhaps you worry about your own life and learn a little perspective. There is no reason why you should be getting so emotional over something that has nothing to do with you.
And why exactly do YOU care so much... I agree with the first comment, its common sense to expect a mother to hold her kid. Whats wrong with YOU???

Don't pretend that common sense has any bearing on your judgement of this woman. You have no idea what goes on "behind the scenes" yet you judge like you spent the day with them and she ignored her kid.
Is she even interacting with her son? Can't she and him just spend the day together alone? Is it THAT hard? She is more interested in strutting around her fashions like she is on the catwalk, esp. with that getup on a warm day.
You are completely right, I dont get it either- is she too freaked out to even want to go out without her nanny?? I like her and her family but her behavior is so unnatural, I wonder if the kids think that they have many mothers..
Good point. And in defence of other celebs, this is not necessarily "normal" or par for the course for those with millions. There are plenty of celebs featured here who have nannies, but don't rely on them 24/7 and these women genuinely seem to like being "one on one" with their kids. Ms Stefani is the exception, her path is definitely not the norm.

Ummmmm...get your facts straight.
Why do all you morons complain about a Nanny being around? To the moron/Elizabeth who said "Can't she and him just spend the day together alone? Is it THAT hard?". Maybe she spent the other 6 days alone with him. You see 1 picture of a Nanny holding Zuma and you seriously think she does that 24/7? You really need to get a life.
Dude, I think you need to familiarize yourself with this site (or a similar site for that matter, put on your bi-focals and take a good long hard look at the photos of Ms. Stefani. She is probably the only celebrity who never goes anywhere with her kids without having at least one of her team of nannies with her. Obviously other celebs (and regular folks) have nannies too, but they don't take them with them each and every time they run an errand or go to the playground. Next time, be sure of your facts before you get all riled up.
P.S. I would hardly call the preceding comments "complaining" -- they are merely commenting on the facts.
I agree with the comments about the nanny/not carrying Zuma... I just don't see why she WOULDN'T carry her child or at least hold his hand and walk with him.

Wow, she's got to be the best, most loving mother in Hollywood. Her kid is "trendy". Hahahahaha! When the child is grown up, guess what - he's going to remember how much time you spent with him, not whether he was wearing the latest and greatest style one Wednesday when he was 3.
Unlike other stars/celebs she is NEVER pictured without a nanny.
Gwen and Heidi Klum are never shown out with the kids with out at least one nanny. and while I do understand having help, having a nanny would be wonderful, but why not just one nanny ? why does each child have to have one or two nannies ? maybe celeb kids are harder to take care of than regular peoples kids.

No "James", YOU are the pathetic one, getting your knickers in a knot over someone you don't even know for God's sake. Calm down, buddy. You are obviously new to this site &/or have only seen a small sample of photos, because Gwen is never out alone with her children, -- there is always at least one nanny with her, even when she is with her husband.
