Jay Mohr & Meredith: Babes In Brentwood

Former Gary Unmarried funny man Jay Mohr was photographed taking his 9-month-old son Meredith for a stroll and a quick shop at Brentwood’s Country Mart in Brentwood, Calif. on Tuesday (February 22).

The doting dad – who welcomed baby Meredith on May 5, 2011 with wife Nikki Cox – seemed to enjoy his sunny afternoon walk with his precious son. Check out those chubby cheeks!

Jay and Nikki have been married since 2006. Jay is also father to son Jackson, 8, from his 6-year marriage to former model Nicole Chamberlain.

He was named after Nikki’s father.

Nice try, but they named the BOY after Nikkis MOTHER: “Cox was born in Los Angeles, California. Nikki’s father is Terry Kay Cox and her mother is Meredith A. Cox, who was her personal manager.[1] She has one younger brother, Matthew Cox, who is also an actor. While girls can totally rock boy names, it is not the same when it comes to boys. Meredith is a female name..sort of like naming your son Sue… Wrong for the poor kid on all levels. Might as well put a dork beacon on his forehead..as if he does not have enough peer… Read more »

The late Meredith Burgess managed just fine with Meredith as a first name.

This must be one of those new unisex names I was told about on the post with the actress who named her new baby daughter “Maxwell Lou”.

Except his name was Burgess Meredith, not Meredith Burgess.

Do you know who peer issues are caused by? Peers, not the kid in question.

So the problem isn’t the parents giving the strange name to their kids, the problem is the peers’ parents who haven’t taught them that it’s not okay to pick on or make fun of someone because of their name especially given that they had absolutely no control over it.

A few bad examples of names that should be given to pets not children:

Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily (Michael Hutchence)
Fifi Trixibelle (Bob Geldof)
Apple (Gwyneth Paltrow)
Moon Unit (Frank Zappa)
Dweezil (Frank Zappa)
and who could forget…”North West” (Kim K and Kanye West)

Meredith for a boy doesn’t sound so bad next to those, does it? It almost sounds like an old money name (e.g. Ashley, Alistair, Tad, Meriweather).
