Actress Jessica Capshaw may be reveling in the fact that she is expecting her third child in June but it seems her Grey’s Anatomy co-stars are still in disbelief over the news.
“Everyone at work keeps going, ‘God, you’re pregnant again?’” she tells PEOPLE. “Because I really was pregnant last year! It does seem a bit, like, ‘What? How are you pregnant again?’ Yet, here I am! I feel so lucky to be pregnant for a third time.”
The 35-year old Bones actress – who is mother to Luke, 4½, and 17-month-old Eve with husband Christopher Gavigan – purposely created some distance between her eldest child and his little sister but hopes that since Eve and her newest sibling will be relatively close in age, a strong bond will form.
“Luke will be very hard-pressed to remember a time before Eve, but if he really, really tried, he could,” Jessica comments. “Eve will never remember a time before this baby. I think there’s something so lovely about that.”
When it comes to the chaos only a household with three children can bring, Jessica seems up for the task.
“I don’t really think about what the challenges are going to be,” she says. “For me, it’s not about the challenges. I keep thinking about how lucky we are. For some reason, even with the third one, it really is never, ever lost on me that every single baby is a miracle.”
Jessica – who recently joined Moms Clean Air Force to call on legislators to protect a historic ruling that would limit toxic pollution from mercury and other damaging chemicals emitted by power plants – opened up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about her experience at the 11th annual Biggest Baby Shower in Los Angeles, Calif. in late February.
