Gwen Stefani: “I’ve Learned To Delegate”

Gwen Stefani covers UK’s Marie Claire January 2013 issue and opens up about husband Gavin Rossdale and life with their sons Kingston, 6, and Zuma, 4.

On struggling to juggle work and motherhood: “I was swimming upstream, trying to balance everything that’s been going on with having kids and a family…I would be up all night because my second baby didn’t sleep, and he had a lot of ear infections. Then I’d wake up in the morning and do my workout, which I always felt I had to do, and then meetings for my three clothing lines, and then hang out with my kids, take them to preschool – da, da, da.”

On trying to work after a full day with the kids: “At four o’clock, I’d be like, “All right, I’m out of here. I’m going to go to the studio and try to write a record. I’d sit on the couch [with my band mates] and be like, ‘Let’s do this now, because I’m missing time with the kids. I could be having dinner with them and putting them to bed.’ It was really hard.”

On working out: “This past year, I kind of stopped working out. I think my body just needed a break. And so I did that and focused more on feeling good as opposed to beating myself up.”

On learning to slow down: “I have learned to delegate. I’ve got myself in a whole lot of trouble by not saying no.”

    And delegate she does!

Unfortunately, she also seems to have delegated having sex with her husband to some roadie guy on tour.

She’s “learned to delegate”? GMAFB — she’s delegated and outsourced her parenting responsibilities from day one!!! Unlike a lot of other celebs who actually seem to like spending time one on one with their kids, this woman never ventures out without at least one nanny — even when her (lazy) husband is with her.

You 2 morons don’t know jack shit about her life. Unless you live with her or go on the road with her, keep your ridiculous comments to yourself.

Why don’t you do the same. Lol

    • and 1 more makes 4

Someone can’t count — there were three posters ahead of you, my friend, not two. More importantly, they are right..

To Anonymous: Sure, we may not know all about every little detail of her life, but A: interviews like this let’s us in on her life. You forget that a lot of celebrities put their lives out there, in interviews, in magazines, etc. B: Remember, a picture is worth a thousand words. We don’t know every little thing that goes on her life, and it’s honestly none of my business. But, by the constant pictuers of her, it’s pretty obvious the nannies do the heavy lifting in their family. And C: Whether it’s right of us or not, this is a board where people come here to comment their opinion. I hardly think that judging what SHE puts out there plus the crapload of pictures there are of her NANNIES and her children, would be considered ridiculous…No one is calling her a bad mother or a bad person, we’re just juding what she puts out there. That’s not ridiculous. Rant over.
