Jared Padalecki & Family: Playground Pals

Supernatural star Jared Padalecki and his wife Genevieve Cortese park it with their 9-month-old son Thomas in Vanouver, British Columbia, Canada on Saturday (January 19).

The happy family enjoyed the crisp air as they pushed their infant son on the swings and played on the playground equipment together.

Jared recently opened up to PEOPLE about the emotional difficulty of seeing his son under the weather.

“He just got sick for the first time. It’s a really vulnerable feeling when your kid gets sick because you can’t really do anything,” he says. “You don’t just want to pack them full of drugs and make them feel better, so you’re kind of sitting there and he’s congested.”

It seems little Thomas is an “old soul.”

“It’s really funny, because … we’ve met a lot of new parents with little babies, and a lot of babies seem like babies, but he feels like he’s kind of an old soul,” Jared shares. “He kind of looks at you and tries to figure you out, which is cool. I hope he’s a mature kid.”

The next new episode of Supernatural airs this coming Wednesday at 9pm EST on the CW.

Such an adorable family! And Sadie and Gen’s dog (there with them, too, in other pictures) are also cute.

Thomas looks a lot like Jared.

Wait a minute . . . You DON’T want your kid to feel better??? Who the heck ARE these people and why are they news worthy? He looks like Charles Manson. I’m thirty-three and I have two children, one of which is that kid up there’s age, and let me tell you, if she gets sick, even if it’s just a cold, I’m going to give her drugs to make her feel better. Shocking, I know.

Someone needs to buy Charles Manson and his wife/girflriend/whatever a book on parenting. Otherwise, that kid is in for a tough childhood.

Of course he wants him to feel better, but pumping a kid full of drugs isn’t what he wants to do.

Hell, I’m 23 and I don’t want to be drugged into feeling better just because of a cold. I’d rather wait it out.

Klutzy, I sure hope you’re not, er, klutzy, because when you fall and sprain something (or worse yet, break something), I want you to remember that you don’t want to be drugged into feeling better and that you’d rather just “wait it out.” Remember that too when you’ve got a cold are you’re reaching for the NyQuil or aspirin.

Not to be rude or even snarky, but sweetheart, I think your “twenty-three” is showing. I doubt SERIOUSLY that you’re a parent, or what this guy said would have pinged your radar a lot harder. I realize you’re most likely a fan of his and that’s great (although I have utterly no idea who he is, but hey, I’m thirty-five and ANCIENT), but he said a stupid thing in that article. Really stupid.

Does anyone really care about these nobodies? I think not.

  • madhatter

Theres actually nothing stupid or wrong with what he said. Please go away you annoying Jensen Ackles fans.
