Victoria Beckham: I Have Working Mom Guilt

Victoria Beckham admits she feels “mom guilt” whenever she goes to work.

In the August issue of Vogue China -the mom-of-four says, “When you are successful, the hardest thing is maintaining that level of success, so you work harder to maintain what you have achieved. It’s a huge juggling act, when you are a working mother and looking after your family. Millions and millions of women around the world are doing this every day, but it’s not easy and yes, you feel guilty every time you walk out of the door to go to work.”

Express also reports she explains, “I have been in the limelight for over 20 years. I am not on an ego trip; empowering women and making them feel sexy and great when they wear my clothes means more than thousands of people clapping. Empowering women is what makes me feel good.”

On July 7 she had time to watch a movie with her children Brooklyn, 14, Romeo, 10, Cruz, 8, and Harper, 23 months.

She tweeted: Home in time to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang with the kids!!! Love this movie!!! X v

You can’t “empower women” without jetting all over the globe and trying to run 10 different companies? Nothing wrong with doing that, but you can’t do that and be a truly “present” mom (or dad) at the same time. Something has to suffer, and it’s usually the kids.

Not hating at all, because I like her, but I bet this is easier with the truckload of nannies I’m sure they have around!

I every video i’ve seen of them if you look in the background there are nannies and bodyguards all holding purchases so the parents can pretend to look busy with the kids.

It doesn’t matter that she’s wealthy and can hire nannies. She needs to work to feel good, would be miserable not working but still feels the same guilt of any mother going to work and leaving behind a small child. Money is not the issue. The child is still left. However, she is more fortunate than most certainly.

no one important

Spot on anonymous. Not everyone works for the financial aspect of it. And no matter who you leave your child with and for however long you still feel guilty leaving them.

The point is that she doesn’t HAVE to leave them. She CHOOSES to leave them.

and at least she gives credit to her staff. No sense in pretending she’s doing most of it herself!

Her hard work is not the same as with the normal working moms because she can leave her job during the day whenever she wants. She has a full staff of professionals making her look good.
