Jessica Alba on Body Image, “Hilarious” Haven

Mom-of-two Jessica Alba is red hot on the October cover of HealthSet to light up the big screen this fall in two major films –  the comedy A.C.O.D. and the action movie Machete Kills – Jessica opens up about family life with husband Cash Warren, their daughters Honor, 5, and Haven, 2, and body image after babies.

On how she feels about her body now: “I was a lot more critical of my body when it was probably pretty awesome. It’s like, why did I not ever wear jean shorts? That’s so crazy. I was so skinny! I didn’t have any cellulite…what was I thinking?! I was more willing to wear short skirts after I had my kids. I never wore them before. Ever. I was so self-conscious. But I remember I was 28 or 29, at an MTV award thing, and my girlfriend Kelly was like, “You should wear a short skirt, because you are not going to be this age forever.” Now I’m a lot more confident in my skin—because who cares? At the end of the day, it’s so much time spent on something that really doesn’t matter that much.”

On if she’s use a double corset again if needed: “Of course. Who wouldn’t! Your muscles are completely stretched. It gets the muscle memory going quicker. It’s just to get your body back. Because everything is everywhere!”

On eating healthy vs. dieting: “To me, it’s knowing that if you eat unprocessed fresh food — it doesn’t all have to be organic, but try to have the least amount of GMOs [genetically modified organisms] and pesticides — you have energy, aren’t starving and don’t have to count calories. When I’m ‘dieting,’ I’m not eating as many snacks — because I love snacks. [Laughs] Popchips, Pirate’s Booty — or I could eat a pound of fruit. So I cut down on snacking when I’m trying to be healthy.”

On who always makes her laugh: “Haven. She is hilarious. Every time we leave the house, she says, “See ya, be ya!” Like “See ya, wouldn’t want to be ya,” but instead it’s “See ya, be ya!” [Laughs] Like…who says that?”

    1. When are “Health” magazine going to stop representing the word “Health” by putting images of very heavily photo-shopped women on the front of their magazine?

    2. I just don’t like this woman, it’s not that I’m jealous, believe me, I’ll admit that I am drop dead jealous of a few celebrities looks and lives – but Jessica Alba just comes off as an incredibly self centered person, and gives off the same weird vibe as January Jones in interviews.

Fake, fake and faker. I bet this girl is constantly tired (and hungry!), not just from not eating but taking forever and a day to get ready to go to the grocery store! UGH how exhausting!!
