Alanis Morissette’s ‘Jagged Little Pill’ To Become A Broadway Musical

Alanis Morissette’s 1995 album Jagged Little Pill is turning into a Broadway musical. According to Rolling Stone – the workshop production will hit the stage in 2014.

Morissette said in a statement, “I look forward to taking the heart of Jagged Little Pill and expanding its story, fleshing it out into ever deeper layers of emotionality, specificity, humanity, power, physicality, spirit and fabulism. I look forward to collaborating with Vivek and Tom and our whole inspiring team to create something greater than the sum of our parts.”

It’s nice to hear good news for the singer, her husband Mario “Souleye” Treadway and their almost 3-year-old son Ever. In late September a former nanny filed court documents claiming that the couple never paid her overtime or allowed her to take meal or rest breaks during the 12-hour shifts she spent taking care of Ever at night. She is demanding $30,000 in unpaid overtime and other wages – plus $100,000 for her emotional distress.

People reported Bianca Cambeiro began working for the couple in August 2011 at their Brentwood, Calif., home for $25 an hour. When she asked Morissette’s accountant the following January why she wasn’t being paid overtime, she claims he replied, “We don’t do that.”
