Rachel Zoe: The Terrible Twos Is “Nonsense”

Expectant mama Rachel Zoe was photographed with her son Skyler, 2, in West Hollywood, Calif. on Friday (November 22). The celebrity stylist took her tot to Yogurt Stop for a treat after picking him up from school.

“Another work day with my mommy thanks @justincoit and @ShoeDazzle for this special photo! XoRZ,” the pregnant reality star, 42, captioned a sweet snapshot via Instagram.

At nine months along, The Rachel Zoe Project star opened up about her second pregnancy.

“It’s way different. It’s all different,” she told PEOPLE. “I’ve heard that from everyone. I have a lot of pregnant friends right now, and all of their pregnancies are different — second, third whatever it is.”

But once again, she has lost her taste for sweets during pregnancy.

“[I feel] lucky, but also I feel kind of gypped,” she jokes. “What happened? Same thing with Sky … what’s the deal?”

As for her first-born, Rachel couldn’t help but gush about her sweet boy.

“I have to tell you, I think this whole terrible twos thing is nonsense,” she said. “This is my favorite age so far, and to be honest, if I could freeze him at 2½, I would. He has this whole personality and a tremendous vocabulary. He says the most incredible things. We’re blown away by him every single day. He’s in preschool. It’s the cutest thing in the whole world.”

And it sounds like her husband Rodger Berman is just as smitten. “[He’s] very, very, very hands on,” she said. “He loves being a daddy.”

As for their 15-year marriage, the fashionista says she feels “very blessed.”

“Rodger’s the easiest thing in my life. He always has been,” she said. “We’ve been together for 22 years, been married for 15 … Everyone’s always like, ‘Isn’t marriage hard?’ And Rodger and I always laugh.”

She added: “We don’t work at it. It just is. We’re best friends. We’re business partners. We’re madly in love with each other. We have an incredibly happy family, so I feel very blessed.”

Lol shes dumb. Every mother will tell her.. It’s not the twos and no idea why people claim two is so bad. It’s actually the threes. The threes are dreadful. Still a fun age but the kids are more vocal and wanting more independence.

    • Meag

      I call them threenagers.

    • Mom

I agree with you 100%! The threes is the worst!!

    • Rosy

You speak the truth! I thought two was pretty rough but now that my son is three, phew! What a rollercoaster it’s been. He’s almost four and things are definitely becoming easier, but I agree that three is much much harder.

@Jessica, threes, really? You’re the dummy here. No child acts up at 3 unless they’re your bunch it seems….and you obviously have no clue of your parenting skills … and yes, society calls it terrible twos and she was just making a point….duh

No need to be rude. … and I agree with her. Threes were way worse than the twos with my kid too, so go ahead and say it was my parenting skills as well. By the way, my kid is now 16 and has a 4.1 GPA, and does volunteer work for 3 different charities.

Lol I think every child acts up throughout their childhood regardless of parenting skills. I called her dumb because I took her comment as just because he has an incredible vocabulary and these social skills she lucked out on the terrible twos. So relax. And my parenting skills are fine thank you.

    • Rosy

From your comment I would guess you either haven’t had a three year old, or you had the best behaved three year old/s ever?

  • Danielle

He is so incredibly beautiful!! Little heartbreaker already!

  • SMH

He is such a gorgeous child.

We call it the Terrible Two’s, god awful three’s, sassy four’s and know it all Five’s LOL

Every age is a unique stage!

    • Jessica

Haha oh my gosh yes the sassy 4s and know it all 5s love it!! So true!

  • Kate

I’m sorry, but I’m not going to take advice from celebrities that have nannies, surrogates and all the money and help in the world re parenting and children. Sorry.

I don’t recall the Terrible anythings. I think 2 through 5 is the most amazing time, kids are just little sponges, absorbing everything around them. Quiet consistency is the absolutely key. I loved my kids… at every age.
