Katie Holmes will not be continuing on her label Holmes & Yang. In early March she broke ties with her stylist partner Jeanne Yang to concentrate on acting and her 7-year-old daughter Suri.
Holmes says in the April issue of Elle UK, “I loved every minute of my time working on Holmes & Yang. I remained passionate about the design aesthetic we created, and am so happy with what Jeanne and I accomplished. I am now concentrating on acting and motherhood which did not leave the label the time and attention it deserved.”
One of her upcoming projects include an ABC pilot about high society from the writer of the Emmy-winning HBO movie Behind the Candelabra.
And she is happy living in her $12,500-a-month apartment in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood.
She told E! News, “New York has been very good to both of us. I love the theater, the galleries in my neighborhood. Stuff [like] that is so much of what makes me love this city. I love the Knicks. I love talking to my neighbors in the elevator. I like feeling a part of something big.”
“I love the community in New York. I love New Yorkers. I ran into someone on the street the other day that I went to high school with. I love the moments of spontaneity every day.”
On Saturday (March 8) she posted a photo of herself basking in the sun tweeting: “Tanning in NYC.”
