Amanda Seyfried Opens Up About Taking Lexapro During Pregnancy

Mean Girls star Amanda Seyfried welcomed her first child, a daughter, with husband Thomas Sadoski in March.

Earlier this month, the actress slammed online mommy-shamers. “Breastfeeding is awesome. Formula is awesome. Feeding your baby is awesome,” The Last Word actress, 31, tweeted on July 5. “Not awesome? Judgement.”

Now, the new mom is opening up about her decision to take Lexapro during her pregnancy.

“I didn’t get off my antidepressant. It’s really for anti-anxiety for me,” she revealed on Dr. Berlin’s Informed Pregnancy. “I’ve been taking Lexapro for years and years and years, and I didn’t get off of it. I was on an extremely low dose.”

She added: “A healthy parent is a healthy kid.”

The Mamma Mia! star was diagnosed with OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) when she was 19.

“It would take me a really long time to put my clothes away in the drawers,” she shared. “And it’s all about organization and if it doesn’t feel right you have to keep moving until it feels right, keep moving things around until they feel right. I have a thing with numbers, which is really common.”

Anti-Depresssants should never be taken during pregnancy! She should have gotten a surrogate, instead of potentially harm her baby. Selfish woman!
