Ellen Pompeo was spotted enjoying some laughs with friends in Los Angeles on Tuesday (October 13). Not even the rain could put a damper on Ellen's afternoon out. Ellen just welcomed her first child, daughter Stella Luna, three weeks ago.
The 39-year-old Grey's Anatomy star is said to be returning to the set of her popular TV show "very soon." In fact, Ellen pre-shot several scenes before her daughter's arrival so that her popular character Meredith Grey would not miss a single episode.
Ellen recently said that life at home with baby Stella is wonderful, saying, "everything is fantastic... I'm the luckiest girl in the world!"

Good news for Grey's Anatomy fans! Just a month after welcoming her daughter Stella Luna, new mom Ellen Pompeo is said to be returning to the set "very soon."
E! reports that because Ellen pre-shot several scenes before her daughter's arrival it could very well be that the hit show won't be minus her character Meredith Grey for a single episode.
Ellen recently revealed that life at home with baby Stella is wonderful, telling People, "everything is fantastic... I'm the luckiest girl in the world!"

New mom Ellen Pompeo made her post-baby debut last night, attending the launch of the new David Beckham and James Bond Adidas Originals collection at the Adidas store on Melrose Avenue.
The Grey's Anatomy star, who welcomed daughter Stella Luna on September 15, was all smiles as she and her hubby Chris Ivery made their way into the store, telling People, "everything is fantastic... I'm the luckiest girl in the world!"
Asked what the best part of new motherhood is, Ellen couldn't seem to pick just one thing, replying, "Everything!"
Dressed in heels and a black dress, the 39-year-old actress said that playdates are definitely on the agenda as soon as Stella "catches up a little bit" to Katherine Heigl's new daughter Naleigh, 10 months.
Ellen Pompeo Welcomes A Daughter
It’s a girl for proud new parents Ellen Pompeo and Chris Ivery!
A rep for the 39-year-old Grey’s Anatomy star confirmed the happy news to Celebrity Baby Scoop today, saying, "Her name is Stella Luna Pompeo Ivery. She was born Sept. 15 in Los Angeles."
Stella is the first child for the couple, who announced the pregnancy back in April.

Ellen Pompeo Visits New Mom Katherine Heigl
Mom-to-be Ellen Pompeo showed off her growing baby bump as she returned home from a visit with her Grey's Anatomy co-star Katherine Heigl and her new daughter Naleigh, 10 months. After a 6-month wait, Katherine and her husband Josh Kelley brought home their adopted baby girl this weekend!
“It’s been a big part of my life and my family," Katherine told Ellen DeGeneres this week of her decision to adopt. "My sister is Korean and my parents adopted her back in the 70s and so I just always knew that this is something I wanted to do.”
Former Grey's star T.R. Knight was also spotted on his way to visit the new mom and her family this morning.

The 39-year-old mom-to-be was recently spotted shopping at Juvenile Shop in Sherman Oaks, California when she bumped into new mom-of-two, gal pal Nicole Richie.
“Nicole was so excited to offer her help to Ellen,” a source said. “She was giving advice about what she should buy and things she’ll need for the nursery.”

Update: Mom-to-be Ellen Pompeo did attend her baby shower today in LA! It was hosted not by Nicole Richie, as early reports implied, but by Ellen's Grey's Anatomy co-star Katherine Heigl! Ellen and Nicole, who is expecting baby #2, did get together earlier in the day.
Ellen celebrated impending motherhood with a catered backyard bash attended by 25 of her friends, including Kate Walsh, Sandra Oh and Rebecca Gayheart.
"Ellen looked gorgeous in a white summer dress with her hair in a braided up-do," an onlooker tells People. "She seemed very excited to celebrate with her girlfriends."
The 39-year-old expectant mom received tons of great gifts - including a Sleep Sheep toy mobile and Kiddopotamus organic swaddle wrap - from Juvenile Shop, where she's registered.
