Joel Madden spent some time with kids Harlow, 2, and Sparrow, 5 months, in the Big Apple yesterday while his fiancee Nicole Richie made the rounds at New York Fashion Week. The doting daddy and his adorable babes stopped in at Starbucks before heading to the space-themed family restaurant Mars 2012 in Times Square.

Earlier this week Joel and Nicole broke the happy news of their engagement, with the bride-to-be showing off her gorgeous new ring.

What a cutie! Nicole Richie and Joel Madden welcomed their second child - a boy! - just six weeks ago. The couple, along with their 21-month-old daughter Harlow, are showing off the latest addition to their family, Sparrow James Midnight Madden.

In an interview with People at their Los Angeles home, Richie, 28, and Madden, 30, her partner and front man of the band Good Charlotte, say they are deprived of sleep, but so happy.

I couldn't be happier. The only thing you want is for your kids to be healthy and happy, and they are." Nicole adds, "I'm right where I belong. I'm glad I had a girl before I had a boy. She just loves him so much." Adds Joel, "She's very gentle with him."

Nicole Richie and her adorable 1 1/2-year-old daughter Harlow spent some special girl time this weekend. The mother-daughter duo were spotted out for breakfast in Studio City, Calif. on Sunday (October 11). Nicole was wearing her favorite Gold and Diamond Letter Necklace by Jennifer Meyer Jewelry.

We're glad to see Nicole out and about! On Monday, the 28-year-old mom-of-two was rear-ended by paparazzi in Beverly Hills.

Nicole and partner Joel Madden are also parents to 4-week-old son, Sparrow.
