One of the contestants on Sunday's episode of American Idol's audition tour in San Diego, Calif., made it through to Hollywood but already has some experience dealing with life in Tinseltown – Jane Carrey, the 24-year-old daughter of Jim Carrey.
The aspiring singer – who sang Bonnie Raitt's Something To Talk About – said she wanted to prove herself without capitalizing on her famous pedigree. "The last name definitely helps and hurts," said Jane, mom to nearly 2-year-old Jackson with ex Alex Santana. "There's this pressure to be better because if I make it somewhere, I run the risk of people saying 'you only got there because of [your name]."

In February Jim Carrey became a grandfather at the tender age of 48 when his daughter Jane, 22, gave birth to a son. This unexpected blessing has given Jim's life a new focus and nine-month old Jackson Riley is the apple of his eye.
In an appearance on Access Hollywood the stand-up-comedian turned movie-star spoke enthusiastically about this latest addition to the family.

The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind actor looked so content and proud as he held his adorable grandson while mingling with friends and family.
Jim, 48, has several films in production, including Ripley's Believe It or Not!, Where's Waldo and Sober Buddies.

Just a week after longtime lovebirds Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy tweeted the surprising news of their split, it's being reported that he has paid $25 million to provide for his ex and her 7-year-old son Evan.
Though the couple never tied the knot - “We are already married in our hearts,” Jenny once said - they reportedly had an agreement in place stipulating that should they ever split the Ace Ventura star would provide $5 million for each year they were together.
“Jenny came to the realization that Jim would never marry her just a few months after they started dating,” a source reveals to Star magazine. “So she told him she needed an arrangement that would insure she wouldn’t have to worry about her future or the future of Evan, her now 7-year-old autistic son from a previous marriage.”
Jim and Evan formed a special bond over the years, with Jenny going so far as to nickname her former beau "the autism whisperer."
"Beyond doubt it was written in the stars that Jim and Evan were a pair," she said in 2007. "He's actually helped Evan get past some obstacles I couldn't. I sometimes call him the autism whisperer. He speaks a language Evan understands, and Evan feels safe with him."

Jackson - born yesterday - is the first child for Carrey's 22-year-old musician daughter Jane and her husband Alex Santana (a.k.a. "Nitro" from the band Blood Money). The new parents married in November of last year.

Jane Carrey, daughter of Canadian funnyman, Jim Carrey, and husband Alex Santana have welcomed their first child!
Baby boy Jackson Riley arrived Friday (February 26) at 12:28am in Los Angeles, reports PEOPLE. He weighed in at 7lbs, 11oz, and measured 20 inches in length.
During her pregnancy, the 22-year-old Jane Carrey Band singer expressed how happy she was to be expecting:
I’ve always wanted to be a mother… and I’ve always wanted to do music, so to have the two together, it’s just awesome, it’s a dream come true.
Her father was also ecstatic about the news, saying, “Jane is going to be a great mom.”
Late Tuesday night, Jim, 47, took to Twitter with a cryptic message: “something beautiful is right around the corner!” We can only assume little Jackson was the “something beautiful” he was talking about!
