Just days away from their wedding, Sofia Coppola and Thomas Mars were all smiles in Matera, Italy on Tuesday (August 24). The happy couple were joined by their sweet daughter Romy, 4, as they enjoyed some pre-wedding celebrations.

Earlier in the week, the 40-year-old film director was seen enjoying the sand and surf with both of her girls - including 1-year-old daughter Cosima - on the beaches of Bernalda, Italy.

Growing up in a family of boys, director Sofia Coppola says that being a mom to two daughters - Romy, 4, and Cosima, 7 months - is an entirely new experience for her.

"...It was fun being the only girl," she tells UK newspaper The Telegraph. "That’s why I like being on the film sets with all the camera guys: it’s familiar! The idea of sisters is mysterious to me, some kind of complicated relationship that I don’t know about. So having girls is fun. I hope they’re close. At first Romy was annoyed [about Cosima’s arrival], but now she’s really into being a big sister."

Mom-of-two Sofia Coppola debuts her gorgeous postpartum figure and her new film alongside partner Thomas Mars. The handsome couple hit the red carpet to premiere Somewhere, directed by Coppola, at the 67th Venice Film Festival in Venice, Italy on Saturday (September 4).

Sofia and Thomas welcomed their second daughter, Cosima, in June (they did not release an exact birth date). They are already parents to 3 1/2-year-old daughter Romy.

Somewhere, starring Stephen Dorff, has its U.S. theatrical release in late December.

Sofia Coppola was photographed taking a walk with her newborn baby in SoHo, New York City on Thursday (June 17).

Yesterday, we spotted the famed director out and about with her newborn for the first time. We are still waiting on a birth announcement from Sofia and her partner Thomas Mars.

Sofia and Thomas are also parents to 3-year-old daughter, Romy.
