Ziggy Marley is bringing music to the little people! The eldest son of Bob Marley is releasing his first children’s album and has invited some family and pretty cool friends to join him on it. Jack Johnson, Laurie Berkner, Elizabeth Mitchell and Jamie Lee Curtis are only a few of the artists featured on the CD Family Time, in stores May 5th. In addition to some well known classics like “This Train” and “Hold Him Joe” Ziggy has written many original songs on this release which are endearing tributes to his family with many sage words of wisdom for kids.
The four time Grammy-winning Jamaican musician describes the importance of celebrating music and family: “Growing up, music was an important part of my childhood. I see it being just as important in my children and all children’s growth and development, to help them grow with open minds and open hearts… This record represents my daily family life and is inspired by my three-year-old daughter Judah and baby Gideon. It was a joy to make and opened up new avenues in my creativity.”
In addition to his skills as a singer, songwriter and producer, Ziggy founded U.R.G.E. (Unlimited Resources Giving Enlightenment), a non-profit organization that benefits a wide range of charitable children's causes in Jamaica, Ethiopia and other developing nations. More recently he has thrown his support behind the Youth AIDS campaign. Proceeds from the sale of Family Time will benefit Chepstowe Basic School in Port Antonio, Jamaica.

Wow! With Ziggy Marley and the other artists on the album (some of our favorites!) this would really improve our "Kid Music" library! How exciting!

I love Ziggy Marley and his message that he delivers through his songs. Not only him but the whole Marley family as well. I would love this cd to play not only for the little ones around me but myself and everyone I know. Spreading the message that family is important. This CD I do not believe is so much meant for children but families in general.
