Cat Cora is one busy mom! The 42-year-old wife and mother-of-four is the only female chef on the series Iron Chef America, is executive chef for Bon Appetit magazine, is creating a line of pots and pans, is a published cookbook author, and has founded the charitable organization, Chefs For Humanity.
In an interview with WebMD the Magazine, the celebrity chef opened up about teaching her four sons, Zoran, Caje, Thatcher, and Nash to eat well, her partner Jennifer, and how she balances her busy career and family life.
On getting her children involved with meal planning: “Jennifer and I introduced spices — ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg — when the children started eating rice cereal to help develop their palates by balancing the savory with the sweet. And we get the kids involved in meal planning, so they’re invested. “Don’t want broccoli tonight? OK, how about carrots? Great!” The more you do it, the more they get used to it.”
On her dinnertime routine: In the evening we cook one meal. This is dinner, that’s it. After that, the kitchen is closed. If they don’t eat, I say, “OK, guess we’ll be having a big breakfast in the morning!” It only takes one or two times and they get it. My kids are just like everybody else’s out there. It’s hard when they’re younger than, say, two-and-a-half to do this, but after that age they’re able to understand.”

“And we realized on this trip that my daughter is a bully: She would steal her girlfriend’s toys and push her and pull her hair for a stroller or for a baby doll or for a purse.” – Jessica on Honor’s vacation time antics

Teri Hatcher is on a quest to empower mothers. The Desperate Housewives’ star has partnered with Disney to create a new website, GetHatched, in hopes of connecting moms and helping them to find their pre-mom selves. The 45-year-old actress sat down with Babble to dish on parenting, her new business endeavor, and being a single mom to 12-year-old daughter Emerson.
On why she created GetHatched alongside Disney: “Women do a lot these days; we make money, take care of our children, spouses, and communities, we carpool, we bake-sale, but sometimes we forget about ourselves. And for some strange reason, we often still confront feelings of not being good enough, and its high time there’s a shift in that attitude. Other strong women have inspired me, and I wanted to build a community where we could all learn from each other.”
On being a ‘desperate housewife’ and how her life has changed: “Well, I’m not a desperate housewife; I just play one on TV. I’ve been blessed by a job filled with new friendships and memories and the freedom to not worry — quite so much — about college tuition and mortgages. As a single mom, there’s always a nagging feeling that this celebrity [status] could go away in a poof. You have to be conservative and smart; no Ferrari for me.”
On one lesson she would teach her daughter: “Life’s short — don’t waste time on things that are trivial. Get off your cell phone, travel, laugh.”

Academy Award-winning actress Reese Witherspoon and her two kids – Ava, 10, and Deacon, 6 – were seen leaving Deacon’s soccer game in Brentwood, Calif. on Saturday (June 5).
Currently dating Hollywood agent Jim Toth, Reese’s children are from her previous marriage to actor Ryan Phillippe.
Ryan recently talked about his divorce from Reese: “I still have sadness and complicated feelings about my divorce…. How beneficial is it to keep hanging onto those feelings? If someone lives through an accident, his aim is to become better and healthy.”
