Fantastic Four star Jessica Alba and her 1 1/2-year-old daughter Honor were spotted grocery shopping at Whole Food in New York City on Thursday (April 22).
Jessica traveled to Washington the day before to speak at the 1GOAL: Education for All campaign.
Having my daughter put my life into perspective. If there’s any way I can contribute to giving a voice to women and children so they can have more opportunities and a better chance at life, I will. I am so grateful to be in the position that I’m in.”

Unlike many Hollywood parents, actor Brian Austin Green, who is best known for his role as David Silver on Beverly Hills 90210, and ex Vanessa Marcil don’t worry too much about son Kassius, entering showbiz. The 8-year-old has bigger things on his mind, reports Contact Music. Proud papa Green shared his sons entrepreneurial side, saying that Kassius recently began a corportation with three friends, creating and selling trading cards. Green says of Kassius’ entrepreneurial tendencies,
I think he’ll end up being much more of an entrepreneur. He recently started a corporation at school… with his three best friends and they are starting with trading cards. They created their own trading cards that they draw and cut out and sell. And they’ve now staffed up to 10 people. They haven’t sold any cards yet because they haven’t mastered them yet. They’re starting small with cards but eventually they’ll be doing video games and web design and things like that. I’m serious. He’s eight, it’s crazy.
Kassius is the only child for Green, who recently revealed that longterm girlfriend Megan Fox plays a big role in his upbringing, saying, “Megan has been just so helpful and instrumental in raising him.”

Ben Affleck is putting his fame to good use with his newly-launched advocacy and grant-making project the Eastern Congo Initiative.
Having traveled to the region several times, the Gone Baby Gone director, who has daughters Violet, 4, and Seraphina, 1, with his wife Jennifer Garner, explains the inspiration behind the initiative:
“I think most people are empathetic and see people who are struggling and are responsive to that, but for me having my own children definitely added to that sense of global responsibility and made me feel even more for other people’s suffering,” the dad-of-two told Entertainment Tonight at this week’s Children Mending Hearts’ (CMH) third annual Peace Please event in Los Angeles.
Ben’s BFF Matt Damon is equally devoted to doing good and has said in the past that fatherhood has inspired him as well:
“I can’t think of any more important value to instill in our children than the desire to help others. I feel strongly about setting an example for them.”

When it comes to motherhood, Emma Thompson relies on some tried-and-true words of wisdom: Pick your battles.
“With Gaia, I make sure that the boundaries are reasonable,” she tells the UK’s The Daily Mail of her 10-year-old daughter. “I only fight the battles I really think have to be fought. Some of the battles I will lose on purpose, so that she gets a sense of power over her own existence.”
Emma admits this philosophy has had some unexpected consequences.
“One of the battles I have let her win is allowing her to have a pair of high heels,” the Nanny McPhee star confesses. “I thought, you know, I am not going to push this. I can’t walk in high heels, but actually I would like her to be able to walk in heels because they look nice. And she loves them. I loved them when I was little. If I had been allowed to have high heels I would have been so happy, but no. So she has a little pair of high heels.”
