Two years after her split from her wife Kelli Carpenter, Rosie O’Donnell admits she’s not enjoying being single, but adds, “But on we grow, so to speak.”
Though Kelli moved out of the family home long ago, she and Rosie only announced their break-up last month. Rosie explains that they kept the news a secret for the sake of their kids Parker, 14, Chelsea, 12, Blake, 9, and Vivienne, 6.
“We wanted to make sure we were in a safe and stable place as a family unit before we had to face the media,” she told Extra at last night’s Rosie’s Broadway Extravaganza in New York, which she attended with her son Parker. “I’m proud of us all – how we’ve been able to get ourselves through the challenges. What you want to teach your children is that life is not always perfect, and sometimes you get a left turn when you don’t expect it, and everybody’s able to make it through.”
Rosie and Kelli met in 1997 and wed in San Francisco in 2004.

Jon Voight seemed to be getting into the Christmas spirit as he spoke with OK! about his daughter, Angelina Jolie, and her family, at the Celebrity Fantasy Auction and Gala in New York City yesterday (November 23).
“Oh I have piles of presents,” says Jon. “I’m a real spoiler.”
Sadly, Jon hasn’t yet met his 1 ½-year-old twin grandchildren, Vivienne and Knox: “I haven’t. I honestly haven’t,” he explains. “That will be my Christmas wish.”
The 70-year-old actor, who recently reconciled with his daughter after a seven year estrangement, says that when it comes to children he’s a “real softy”:
I read all the books about discipline and I do think that discipline is important too. I think I’m good that way too. If anybody’s out of line I can straighten it out. But I usually do it with humor rather than the harsh hand.
He goes on to say that he is very proud of the humanitarian work that Angelina is doing, but adds: “I don’t know much about that so I can’t talk about that.”
Earlier this month Jon told Us Weekly that though he and his daughter are on speaking terms again, they are not in touch regularly: “We love each other and that’s the most important thing.”

Dad of the Year Michael Lohan is not just busy taping his daughter Lindsay’s private phone conversations; he’s now moved onto fellow fallen father Jon Gosselin. RadarOnline has obtained an audio recording of Jon Gosselin complaining about his contract with TLC and “side deals” that the network made without paying the family. Most disturbing is Gosselin’s statement that he “put [his] kids out there to every pedophile on the planet and they never got paid for it? It’s disgusting…”
So, it’s OK if they are exposed to pedophiles as long as they get paid, Jon?
The expletive-laced tape also seemingly confirms that he did indeed have a relationship with tabloid reporter Kate Major, that they, in Gosselin’s high-school-ish words, “hung out.”
Finally, in a pathetic display, Gosselin demonstrates his naivete, including in his relationship with Lohan, a convicted drunk driver and former addict who has been known to use the media to further his quasi-fame. In the tape, Gosselin states, “I don’t even know your past, Michael. I don’t even follow that s–t. I don’t care.”
Perhaps had he read a bit more about Lohan, he wouldn’t have been so candid.

Just call him Superdad!
With his wife Ashlee Simpson getting set for her big Broadway debut, Pete Wentz has been on daddy duty these days. The 30-year-old Fall Out Boy rocker tells People that he’s been having a great time with his adorable son Bronx Mowgli.
“I just spent the last weekend – Mom was rehearsing for Chicago – being Dad without a nanny, without Mom, and didn’t burn the house down. So I’m pretty excited about that.”
Baby Bronx marked a big milestone on Friday: His first birthday! The family planned to celebrate with a Spongebob-themed party over the weekend.
“He likes Bob and he likes guitar – which he calls ‘itar,’ so we’re going to have a Spongebob party for him,” Pete explained.
Best wishes again to the birthday boy!
