Jenna Elfman Hopes To Inspire Healthy Change

Whether it's breastfeeding or eating organic or using eco-friendly cleaning products, Jenna Elfman makes every effort to give her sons Story, 4 1/2, and Easton, 2, a healthy start in life. The actress, who last month spoke to Celebrity Baby Scoop about the Healthy Child Healthy World event that she hosted at her LA home, chats to Time about going green.
On what she feeds her kids: "Only organic produce and as much organic stuff as possible. In terms of canned foods, I try to use canned goods from this one company that doesn’t use BPA [Eden Foods]. I’m not a full hippie granola make-all-your-own-stuff kind of person. I’m not good in the kitchen. If I was a better wife and homemaker, I would make more of my own stuff, but that is not who I am.... The majority of our life is organic. When we’re out and there’s a birthday party or we’re somewhere and there’s a hot dog, I’m like, eat a hot dog."

Hollywood leading ladies Jenna Elfman, Kelly Preston and Laila Ali came together last weekend to empower moms and moms-to-be to raise healthy babies. The first ever celebrity breastfeeding and toxin-free living event was held at Elfman's home in Los Angeles to benefit not-for-profit organizations Best for Babes and Healthy Child Healthy World. The event was sponsored by Leading Lady nursing intimates and Ameda breast pumps and coordinated by celebrity event planner Marley Majcher, The Party Goddess.
"I love nothing more than being a mom, and as a moms we are fiercely protective of our kids," Preston tells Celebrity Baby Scoop. "I know I would do anything to ensure the health of my children. That started from day one, twenty years ago, with that first connection I had with my son the first time I breast fed him," she shares of her bond with late son Jett.

Jenna Elfman Had "Zero Education" About Breastfeeding

Motherhood wasn't always smooth sailing for Jenna Elfman. The actress, who gave birth to her son Story Elias three years ago, admits in an interview with Best for Babes she hardly knew anything about breastfeeding.
She said, "I had zero education about breastfeeding before giving birth to my first son, I didn’t know there was anything TO learn about breastfeeding! I thought you put the baby on the breast and they sucked and that was it. There was maybe one sentence on it in my birth class. So . . . when I finally put him on the breast; I didn’t know about latch, I didn’t know about anything!"

Mom-of-two Jenna Elfman was seen playing with her elder son Story Elias on a Los Angeles beach on Tuesday (September 7). Little brother Easton Quinn, 6 months, was not spotted with the pair.
The mother-son duo pretended to drive a jet ski before playing a game of chase. The adorable 3-year-old boy was all smiles as mom ran after him and threw him into the air.
Jenna was taking a break from shooting her new romantic comedy, Friends With Benefits.
