One of the contestants on Sunday's episode of American Idol's audition tour in San Diego, Calif., made it through to Hollywood but already has some experience dealing with life in Tinseltown – Jane Carrey, the 24-year-old daughter of Jim Carrey.
The aspiring singer – who sang Bonnie Raitt's Something To Talk About – said she wanted to prove herself without capitalizing on her famous pedigree. "The last name definitely helps and hurts," said Jane, mom to nearly 2-year-old Jackson with ex Alex Santana. "There's this pressure to be better because if I make it somewhere, I run the risk of people saying 'you only got there because of [your name]."

Jane Carrey, daughter of Canadian funnyman, Jim Carrey, and husband Alex Santana have welcomed their first child!
Baby boy Jackson Riley arrived Friday (February 26) at 12:28am in Los Angeles, reports PEOPLE. He weighed in at 7lbs, 11oz, and measured 20 inches in length.
During her pregnancy, the 22-year-old Jane Carrey Band singer expressed how happy she was to be expecting:
I’ve always wanted to be a mother… and I’ve always wanted to do music, so to have the two together, it’s just awesome, it’s a dream come true.
Her father was also ecstatic about the news, saying, “Jane is going to be a great mom.”
Late Tuesday night, Jim, 47, took to Twitter with a cryptic message: “something beautiful is right around the corner!” We can only assume little Jackson was the “something beautiful” he was talking about!

Jane Carrey, daughter of Canadian funnyman Jim Carrey, has revealed to >ET Canada that she and fiancé Alex Santana are expecting a baby boy!
Jane, who announced the pregnancy in July, also revealed that she and Alex have decided on the name Jackson Riley.
“I’m really excited about it because I never really got along with girls growing up,” explains mom-to-be Jane. “I was a little afraid that if it was a girl that she would not like me, you know? So, I’m very happy about the boy.”

It's no joke! Jim Carrey's rocker daughter Jane Carrey is expecting her first baby and her dad is thrilled, RadarOnline.com reports.
"I am very excited," Jim, 47, said. "Jane is going to be a great mom."
Jane, 21, a rockstar, fronts her group the Jane Carrey Band. The babydaddy is Jane's long-time boyfriend Alex Santana, who goes by the stage name "Nitro" with his own rock band, Blood Money
"Jane is ecstatic," a source says. "She and Alex are now engaged and are thrilled at becoming parents."
Jane's mother is Melissa Womer, Jim's first wife. Jim and Jenny McCarthy have been together for several years.
