Save the Children’s U.S. Programs and the organization’s artist ambassador Julianne Moore have invited beloved children’s book authors and illustrators Ian Falconer, Kevin Henkes, Leuyen Pham, Brian Selznick and Mo Willems to design limited-edition Valentine’s cards benefiting Save the Children’s U.S. Programs 'Love to Read, Read to Live' campaign.

Nearly 1 in 4 children in the U.S. lives in poverty and most of them don't have any books in their homes,” Julianne tells Celebrity Baby Scoop, who credits her upbringing as an “Army kid” living all over the country for opening her eyes to the reality of poverty in the United States. “You can see why these kids often fall behind in school, and then in life.”

Actress Julianne Moore and her 12-year-old son Cal rocked the red carpet at the New York premiere of Crazy, Stupid, Love on Tuesday (July 19). The gorgeous redhead stars as Emily, the wife of Steve Carell in the new comedy.

The 50-year-old mom-of-two was spotted with her 9-year-old daughter Liv earlier this month.

Julianne Moore says that it's difficult to feel sexy unless she and husband Bart Freundlich are able to spend some time away from kids Caleb, 13, and Liv, 8.

"I think [to feel sexy,] you need to be away from your children. Doing the mommy stuff does sort of squash that area of your life.," the Kids Are Alright actress said.

Julianne Moore is at the International Rome Film Festival promoting The Kids Are Alright, the film she stars in with Annette Bening as a long-term lesbian couple raising their teenage children. Moore used the opportunity to speak out in favor of gay parents, telling reporters that studies prove children of same-sex couples were "healthy and happy and everything you'd want them to be."

"What children need is two loving parents," the actress said. "It doesn't matter if they are two moms, or two dads, or a mom and a dad."
