Former Biggest Loser trainer Jillian Michaels has had a lot going on over the past year. Last December, the fitness guru announced she was leaving the NBC weight loss show to venture into her own television endeavors. In February, she announced she had decided to adopt internationally. Two months later, she signed on to co-host the daytime talk show The Doctors and as a correspondent on the Dr. Phil show.
In the recent issue of Prevention magazine, Jillian opens up about her struggles to adopt a child from the Democratic Republic of Congo, her transition from The Biggest Loser to The Doctors and if she will ever host her own TV show.

The newest host of The Doctors opens up to REDBOOK magazine and dishes about her personal health issues and her innate desire to become a mommy.
On the two years it’s taken to adopt a baby from the Democratic Republic of the Congo: "I’ve watched friends congratulate me on [starting] the process, get pregnant themselves, have a baby, and then their baby’s crawling. People are lapping me. My best friend just told me she’s pregnant, and of course I’m ecstatic, but I’m also like, Uhhh! [gestures stabbing herself]. Like, I want my kid to be playing with your kids! It’s just a nightmare."

A lot has happened since April 2010 when Jillian Michaels first announced her adoption desires. The 37-year-old celebrity trainer, who chatted with Access Hollywood in February about her plans to adopt a child from Africa, has now revealed new information about her journey into motherhood:
“My dossier, which is your paperwork portfolio, is in to the Democratic Republic of the Congo,” she tells Us. “So the paperwork is done, and now it’s just a waiting game.”

When Jillian Michaels of NBC's The Biggest Loser told Women's Health that she planned to adopt a child from Africa instead of getting pregnant because "I can't handle doing that to my body," she was heavily critcized (to say the least) and accused of portraying pregnancy as "some sort of 'disease' that women should avoid." But in an interview with The New York Times, Michaels finally explains why for her, it seemed that adoption was the best option.
"The reality is that I have endometriosis, and I most likely couldn't get pregnant," reveals Michaels.

Jillian Michaels is one step closer to becoming a mother! The Biggest Loser trainer, who recently announced her decision to leave television to focus on starting a family, is knee-deep in the adoption process.
“I want to start a family,” she told Access Hollywood. “I’d like to take a year off of television and really focus on - I’m in the middle of the adoption process - and really focus on that and hopefully becoming a mother in the next year and putting all my energy into that for a while. And then back to TV later in 2012.”

Is TV trainer Jillian Michaels ready to take time out for motherhood?
The 36-year-old star of The Biggest Loser tells Women's Health magazine that she definitely wants to be a mom - though she's not too eager to be pregnant.
“I’m going to adopt. I can’t handle doing that to my body," she says, adding, "Also, when you rescue something, it’s like rescuing a part of yourself.”
For now she has another project to focus on: Her new daytime show, Losing It With Jillian. She'll be traveling the country, helping families find ways to be healthier and happier.
"It’s about rebooting your life," she explains. "The more people are able to see a truer picture, the easier it will be to get a message across”
Jillian doesn't have kids of her own just yet, but she is godmother to her friend Vanessa Marcil's 8-year-old son Kassius Marcil-Green.
