He fronts one of the world's most successful bands, but Coldplay singer Chris Martin says that it's fatherhood that has given his music "a purpose."
"It's made it more focused," Chris, who has kids Apple, 7, and Moses, 5, with Gwyneth Paltrow, tells CBS Sunday Morning of being a dad. "And you have a purpose. I like what it does. Just the idea of having to work hard so your kids are okay."

Chris Martin says his kids, Apple, 7, and Moses, 5, effected his creative process on the new Coldplay album Mylo Xyloto.
He tells USA Today, "(My children) made me more focused on not wasting time on anything I don't think is worth wasting time on. So that's affected my editing process. You don't want to spend months and months doing something and have it turn out terrible. You want your kids to be proud, basically. So it gives you extra drive."

The Country Strong actress starts off by getting Apple, 6, and Moses, 4 – her kids with husband Chris Martin – ready for school. "Got Apple all fed and dressed in her uniform and ready to go but no sign nor sight of Moses at 8 am and we have to be out of the house by 8:20," she wrote. "I went up to arouse the little man from slumber and he quite happily got up and crawled into my arms. We got downstairs and I made him a quick breakfast of eggs and toast followed by a spoonful of lemon flavored flax oil that I try to remember to give them both every morning."

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin took his two children - 6-year-old daughter Apple and 4-year-old son Moses - along with the nanny to see the theatre performance of Wicked at the Apollo Theatre in London, England on Saturday (October 2).
The kids' mother is Chris' wife of nearly 7 years, Academy Award-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow.

Gwyneth Paltrow's daughter Apple, 6, is a big fan of designer Stella McCartney but it's not for her groundbreaking fashion. Turns out Apple and Stella share a passion for horse riding.
"Apple has turned into quite an equestrian and as I can’t bear horses or riding Stella takes her out," Gwyneth told the Daily Mail.
And we're not talking pony rides – Apple is skilled enough to have impressed the judges at the 35th Annual Hampton Classic Horse Show in Bridgehampton, New York, last weekend where she competed in the category known as Leadline, a division for the youngest riders.
Stella is currently pregnant with her fourth child and isn't doing much riding herself, but she's impressed with her protegé. "Apple’s gorgeous and really good on horseback. Better than that, I’ve turned her vegetarian," she said.
And in turn, Gwyneth, who is married to Coldplay’s Chris Martin, is amazed at the influence her friend has had on her daughter. "I sent Stella a picture of Apple having a riding lesson wearing a PETA T-shirt and said, 'She’s your child!' They have really bonded."

What a cutie! Coldplay rocker Chris Martin took on the school run yesterday, picking up his adorable 4-year-old son Moses from class in London, England (July 1). Dressed down in flip flops and a tee, the doting dad was also sporting new piercings in both ears!
Earlier this week we spotted Moses and his big sister Apple, 6, out enjoying a sunny day. The kids' mom is Shakespeare in Love star Gwyneth Paltrow.
