Celebrities Come Out For The 2011 Baby Buggy Summer Dinner

What’s for dinner? On Saturday, July 31, the menu was all about helping families in need as celebrities gathered for the 5th annual Baby Buggy Summer Dinner in New York, hosted by Reed and Delphine Krakoff. Co-hosts Jessica Seinfeld, who founded the organization, and husband comedian Jerry Seinfeld were there to lend their support to the event which raised more than $275,000 for the organization.

“In today’s economy it’s important to have an organization that supports families in need, particularly ones with small children,” Kimberly Van Der Beek told Celebrity Baby Scoop. “The Summer Dinner is a lovely opportunity to raise funds and awareness about Baby Buggy. Anyone can help by simply emptying that closet full of baby things they no longer use.” Kimberly and her husband, actor James Van Der Beek, are first-time parents to Olivia, 10 months.

The intimate event, held at the historic Krakoff Estate Lasata in East Hampton, was sponsored by the Reed Krakoff brand for 145 friends, board members and long-time supporters of Baby Buggy. Dinner guests included Blythe Danner, Gayle King, Gwyneth Paltrow, James and Kimberly Van Der Beek, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, Kyle MacLachlan and Desiree Gruber, Mark Feuerstein and Dana Klein, Nacho Figueras and Delfina Blaquier, Rachel Zoe and Rodger Berman.

Baby Buggy, founded in 2001, is a non-profit organization that provides families in need with essential equipment, products, clothing, and educational services for their infants and children up to age 12. Visit www.babybuggy.org for more information.

  1. Just another excuse for rich people to throw a party and pat themselves on the back while sipping champagne. Then they go back to spending insane amounts of money on themselves and feel good about it because they gave their leftovers to a “needy mother.”

  2. Wow, for an “intimate event”, these celebs must have been very generous – $275,000 is a lot to raise if it was a relatively small group. Kudos to Jessica Seinfeld for establishing this awesome charity and continuing to work so diligently on raising funds and exposure. She seems like a true gem.

  3. Wow Rach and Anonymous. I don’t care the circumstances- money was raised for a genuine cause. I think celebrities that don’t use their fame for good are missing some opportunities to raise awareness for such great things. Kudos to them all. I now have somewhere I’m happy to give my daughters outgrown baby things.
